I used t ovisit this forum some time ago, but then I got tired of ToEE and all those bugs, patches and stuff... Now I decided to play it again, and this time I've installed everything this forum recomended, from patches to Co8 Modpack and TFE-X. So I'm feeling newbie, I think I could use some advice here. Should I get NPCs in my party? I'd get less XP, right? Should I have someone in the party make our own magic itens? I never liked the way carfting magic itens work in D&D, having a wizard/cleric one or more levels behind the rest isn't very good. What exactly does this "humble NPCs" option do? Should I set a different level cap, a different max number of players in the party, or put everyone (PCs and NPCs) to get max HP? Having an NPC in the party will add to the experience in the game? Like will he suddenly betray us, give us new sidequests or get us in trouble? Thanks.
Yes, fewer XP. Crafted items are very powerful. Your call. Stops npc looting. Allows you to loot npc's. Your call. You know what they do. Yes. Some npc's in your party do change the game. Enjoy!
Honestly what i like to do is to run through the game with 4 party members. It makes it more challenging and your going to benefit more from the raised level cap provided by CO8. This usually means your going to have a cleric/druid and wizard/sorc in your party (gotta have healers and nukers :grin. I usually go with cleric and wizard. That way i'd have my cleric craft magic arms and armor, and my wizard craft wondrous items. This way the xp usage is spread out a bit more. Plus, since your getting more xp running 4 party members it does help a bit.
Can I pick NPCs pockets with the "humble NPCs" off? Will they pick mine? If I turn on the max HP to NPCs will monsters and villains have more HP than usual? I created a party with no rogue, and a bard instead, but I got to that Moathouse and couldn't open the very first chest I found, although my bard did have the Open Lock skill (cross-class) and thieves tools. That got me quite angry and I deleted the party. Do you guys think I can run well thgough the game having no pure cleric and rogue, but multiclass versions of them? (I was thinking maybe a barbarian/cleric and a sorcerer/rogue, or a cleric/rogue) Zigmx6, do you pick NPCs when you play this way? And what other classes you have?
