Hello. I am playing the KoTB demo, but I am having some problems in solving some quests. 1. the aracnophobia quest.. I solved the eggs quest, killed the queen spider, slayed all spiders and the quest is still undone. 2. I think I got all the ingredients in the puzzle of the hope chest, but i get no key. and this last is a bug...after i looted the dragon..everytime I enter a room in town my game locks up and ends.
I'll just add that I'll check the Dragon again, as this has been mentioned before (though it may not inolve looting the dragon but may just be the ol' CTD bug). Mr Jones, are you using the latest (1.11) version released last week?
Yes I did patch the program. by the way, you people did a wonderfull job in this module. congratulations!!!
Why thankyou And thanks for getting back to us. Next question: did you hit 'take all' to loot the dragon, or do each item individually? (Since you had to cut out his gall bladder, skin him etc). Also did you - skin him successfully or ruin it? - get the gall bladder out or get drenched in acid?
I took each item individually. I managed to get both the dragon scales and the gall bladder One thing, while playing the Temple of elemental evil , the spell analyze dweomer never worked with me. And in KOBL , Two things i just remembered. 1st. I did not manage to scribe any scroll to my wizards spellbook; 2nd - Metamagic feats ( maximize spell, etc..) dont work with sorcerer..I dont know if its my problem with its interface or if its a bug. After the KoBL, anyone thought about an Against the giants module?
Well thats always been the plan... Vis-a-vis Metamagic sorcery - never tried it, but in pnp metamagicking a sorcerer's spell is a full action.
WOWWW!!! Wait a second! I'm, loosing something here! There are an option to skin creatures in KotB?!? (er... Sorry the off topic question...)
I recently encountered this same problem. After killing the dragon (I got only the gall bladder, not the scales) and returning to the keep, the following things caused a CTD: ·Attempting to enter the inn. ·Dropping the gall bladder on the ground right outside the inn and pressing F12 to save. Any attempt to load the savefile now causes CTD. I'll try to give some details from memory. The party was a lone level 8 wizard, wearing everything dropped by that woman in red from the keep - Lady M... something. Also equipped was the magic dagger dropped by the mad hermit, one ring of protection and one ring of climbing. Inventory contained everything from the dragon map (excluding the dragon scales), a flagon of mead, one of the magic scrolls from the wizard's tower and two healing potions. I was currently working on the hope chest, lacking only the beer and the "gift of shell and water", whatever that is. Hope it's of any help.
First of all, if I remember correctly (I don't use the shortcut keys much myself) F12 is the quicksave button, and quicksaves are a great way to corrupt your game. Don't ever use quicksaves. Your game will be permanently hosed, as you've found out. It may not happen the first time, but it will eventually. Secondly, the beer is in the mad wizard's tower, and as to the "gift of shell and water" - what can you think of that comes from inside the shell of something under water and can be given as a gift?
Regarding the Gall Bladder - I will check that, the 'post-dragon' thing has been reported a few times. If a body part (such as a gall bladder, or a hide) appears in the critter's inventory, then you have to make a Survival check to get it successfully. (I'm going to change that to a check against a specific DC at some point).
Many thanks, Shiningted! I've not yet found any creature that gives this kind of "iten", and is good to know that before that this come to hapens! By the way, great idea!
So I am looking for the items to get into the wizards room... Got the majority I think... Golden Cup! Broken Clock! Quill, Ink, and Parchment (written in his own hand?)! 2 scrolls found in the tower (written from his mind?)! a white pearl a small tiger toy Flower? Does it mean the plant that gives the +2 to survival checks? Any help would be appreciated.
