I was actually hoping he'd PM the link to me, I knew from other posts that we weren't allowed to link them here. Sorry for that.

I think my eee pc is straight up XP. I did get it working, the no cd worked like a dream(though I had to fight with avg to transfer it on to my new computer, avg thinks no cd's are trojans for some reason and wouldn't let me "ignore" it). What's sad is now that I think about it, I could've just gotten on the internet with my new eee pc rather than use the networking. ^^; Oh well.

So yeah, toee runs perfectly on it, though for some reason I'm not starting in that special co8 opening area. I have the co8 5.5.0 beta activated and selected in ToEE-X front end. The only thing I could think is that on my old computer, I had ToEE 5.0.0. installed, and upgraded to 5.5.0. beta. Does the beta have all the new co8 stuff added?

Hmm, I've heard of that bug. Not entirely sure how to solve the problem though... Where DO you start? Do you go straight to the opening?

Well I'm doing a Neutral Good party I think, so it plays the movie about the alley way and the dead priestess.

I also noticed something else, I can shoot 511 magic missiles. =| I tried shooting all of them and I crashed. I have yet to look up anything on it, it's probably a recognized bug. Just kind of made me laugh. I was wanting to show my friend the magic missile animation, cause I thought it was really nice, and I explained how you can choose the missile targets individually, clicking 1 through 5, then 6, then 7, and I finally noticed the 7/511 by my mouse.

But at least it runs, I can play DnD anywhere now. X3

I stand slightly corrected... it seems that they are now being offered in both operating systems... something that people interested in them might want to watch...

I enjoyed my machine on Linux but found I could not run a few programs i wanted to... however ANYTHING you want in Linux is available free....

The ASUS Eee PC ("Eee" is pronounced as "ee" in "see", IPA: /iː/) is a subnotebook / netbook computer by ASUS and a part of ASUS Eee product family. At the time of its introduction in fall 2007, it was noted for its combination of a light weight, Linux operating system, solid-state drive and relatively low cost. Newer models have added the option of Windows XP operating system and traditional hard disk drives. Newer models have also increased in price, though they remain relatively inexpensive as laptops, and notably inexpensive for ultra-small laptops.

According to ASUS, the name Eee derives from "the three Es," an abbreviation of its advertising slogan for the device: "Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play".[1]

Wait - you are starting at the NG viginette and you have the 511 Magic Missile bug after installing the No-CD.exe? I strongly suspect you have the wrong no-CD. Open up Windows Explorer and take a look at your (cracked) TOEE.exe - if it is bigger than 33kb, you are not using the Patch 2 version and will have all kinds of problems. The version 1 no-CD has the original .dll bundled in it, so all the Co8-modded .dll hacks and fixes will not work.

I checked it when downloading and now, it's 33kb(or somewhere in that kb range, not in mbs).

I am having all kinds of troubles though. After running the Toee-x repair and not finding anything wrong, I decided to run the game again. Toee-x said it wanted to scan for problems or something so I let it, and after wards I was able to start in the building with the chests you buy equipment from. However, I haven't noticed any new equipment there, like the rusty weapons, and there is no heavy armor whatsoever. Maybe this is how it was designed, I honestly can't tell. I also had an issue with trying to load a game getting a CTD.

I decided to play anyway, had a minor issues where I could talk to someone through a wall but whoopdeedoo. Then I go to the moathouse, rest, and get attacked by spiders. I attack them, their turn comes up, and based on the sound I assume they cast web, but I didn't get to see it as the game quickly CTD again.

I'm trying things that I'm reading on the forums currently, hopefully something will help but if not does anyone have any ideas?

Hate to say it but it appears the EEEpc (wannabe) might not be compatible with TOEE...

looking at the online specs and there only being 1 gig of shared memory makes me wonder if you are having issues because of available video memory.. you might want to look at allocations of resources and see if you meet each of the requirements that the game and the CO8 front end require..

Start at the beginning and make sure all requirements are met.

Sounds like a bad install to me. Are you sure you followed the install steps exactly? Also, make sure you use the right nocd. Did you activate the Co8 pack in the TFX?

Nothing much I can suggest aside from a clean reinstall. Also check if you have .NET framework installed.

I'll try reinstalling. I will note that, while I didn't have patch 3 installed, it was downloaded on my desktop. At one point when I couldn't get co8(i think) to run, I decided to delete the .exe for patch3 and ran Toee-x again and it worked. Apparently just the existence of the .exe for patch3 is enough to cause problems. I haven't reinstalled since then, so I'm going to try to clean out everything.

Ax Thrower, I could understand some of the CTD being a hardware issue, but a lot of the problems I'm having seem unrelated to that. And the CTD could easily be the fact that ToEE is about as buggy as games get and not installing by the books can cause a lot of problems. We'll see though.

    Hi everyone; my first post.

I have been running TOEE on a EEEPC 900HA which I upgraded to 2gig of RAM. Have installed patch 1 and 2 on USA version with the moebius.dll fix and no-cd v2.0 with no problems. My machine has Windows XP SP3, .NET framework 3.5, Directx10 and a 1.66GH intel Atom processor. So far so good.

I wandered in here because I'll try to install the Co8 mod tomorrow.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

I second that, co8 is amazing. I've often wondered why they don't develop games themselves, I know I would buy into it.

One reason is it takes a very long time for us to develop a module with all of us doing it in our off time for free... the other reason is we use atari's game engine and if we SEll a product using their game engine we open ourselves up for a law suit.

Check out KOTB it is a module we are building and it has taken us over 2 years with constant updates and play testing before we even let out the demo...

Co8 modpack installed, running and loving it so far. So good to be able to equip characters as you see fit.

So I suppose thats a resounding yes to ultra portable TOEE on the EEEPC.

I'll see how far I can push the settings before it chokes
    Cheers

Yeah, I'm looking forward to playing KOTB, but I feel I should fully explore the original game first. The farthest I've gotten is some fight with a cleric, and in the middle of the fight an evil diety appears and kills your party, then a good diety shows up and kind of saves the day.
