Yes, there will be a CMF mod thread for 5.5 after it comes out of BETA.

Yes, we secretly changed all that in 5.5, specifically, as well. It was never that way in previous versions.

It wasn't me, it was Filikin. All those long hot days starin' at the rear end of a mule. The orcish ladies start to look good...

I wouldn't know, this is my first or second time taking Melany into the party. But I bet it's a part of some evil masterplan

I bet it's worse than that... Say, I've always wondered why Terjon's shield looks like an orc shield... :twitch:

And why would townspeople be wearing brown robes in the summer heat? Unless they had something to conceal. And there's SO many of them. And they're EVERYWHERE! :paranoid:

I last came by at 2:11, and this is your 211th post, and 22 is 2 11's, and the 22 letter is V, like Darley's horns...:twitch:

You'd have to ask ToEE's portrait artist that. ;)

Hi everyone, i have install yhe CO8 5.5.0 pack (I player the 5 version a long time ago), I have some problems I hope you can help me:

First of all, my Temple of elemental evil is the spanish version.

    - I only can loot in combat, (i have follow the install guide, and use a crack, but I think isn´t a 2.0 crack).

    - I have the 511 magic missile bug too, so im thinking i have the toee.exe error.

    - I activated the humble npc option, and the show npc hp option, but Elmo can loot when i loot, and the npc´s hp isn´t show.

    - I change the party number to 6, but when I activated the 6 players and begin the game, I only have 5, the 6 gets out.

    - At firts, my pc appears without clothers or equipement, I have to replace the .mes file.

    Any ideas? Thanks

You are using the wrong version of the no-cd crack. If you use the Co8 mod, you must use the 33kb version 2 no-cd crack or none at all. Google the proper version, it will fix all your problems.

Hello - a quick question please:

Will the co8 Modpack fix (or is it even likely to fix) the CONSTANT crashes-to-desktop I am experiencing?

I have a brand new, virgin, patched-to-v2 ToEE installation on an extremely stable WinXP system with non-SP2 directX 9.0c and fully updated video and audio drivers. I have set my refresh rate to 75MHz and am not running any background applications. And yet...

The game will start, run for a while, and then crash to desktop - usually (but not always) when I try to Talk to an NPC. (This circumstance accounts for about 80% of the CTDs I'm experiencing - the other times, it's when I'm entering/leaving a building, or just in the middle of walking around.)

I've tried searching the co8 forum for "crash" and "crashes," and read many of the thousands of posts returned by those searches, and I've exhausted the (minimal) 'support' provided on the Atari site.

If someone could tell me that the co8 Modpack is even likely to fix these horrible, ubiquitous, recurring crashes I will install it - or, has anyone experienced CTD behaviour similar to what I have? I mean, I haven't even had my first combat yet; just talking (and sometimes walking) is enough to keep it crashing!

    :sadblinky

I am very nearly at my wit's end, and I am - as one of your Mods puts it: Very Sad...

Are you using a no-cd crack or an original cd? Also, turn off your anti-virus. You may have a bad install also. Something may interfering with the game. Installing a co8 mod on top of this wont fix a problem with the base game.
Try a new install with the antivirus off. Remove the game using Contol Panel, then manually delete all atari/toee files first.

I usually reinstall if I'm getting ctd's for "non-standard" causes, and it's usually been effective on some degree or other. On the other hand, I've reinstalled so many times over the years, it's no big deal. It runs best on an operating system I no longer used by the time it was published. So I sort of accept the challenge.

Once you get it stable, it's a gorgeous game.

Yes it WILL lower the amount of times you must suffer a crash to desktop.

TOEE is a wonderful, yet very buggy game.

The good folks at Co8 have done more for this game than Atari could have if they actually tried.

The CMF 5.5.0 Beta, with the new front end loader will CERTAINLY improve your gaming experience.

Will it fix ALL the problems inherent with this game engine? No!

Is it worth installing? A resounding YES!

    In summation;

TOEE without the Co8 CMF, not worth wasting your time.
TOEE with the Co8 improvements, refinements, and additional content, the closest thing to PnP table top fun you'll ever experience.

No. I am not using any nocd; I am using the original disk from an amazon.com purchase, and have verified that the .exe is the smaller one with the separate .dll not bundled in it.

I never install OR run any game with the antivirus (Avira Free-For-Life) on: I do all my virus checking before installing any app. [I've been in IT since well before the acronym "IT" existed (we used to call it "computer science"). I cut my teeth on CDC Stars and Cray XMP 1s and 2s. I was working with Altairs when Bill Gates was raking in the $$ from Traf-O-Data and I like to think I have a bit of savvy when it comes to operating the coputification machine.] :blahblah:

Based on the statements regarding the co8 modpack, I will - *sigh* - do a complete uninstall/reinstall and load your frontend+mod to see if this motheaten, maggot-riddled, fleabitten verminfest can be run for more than 10 minutes without spitting up blood and dying the death. Just now, it's no more than a $10 fresher lesson in Caveat Emptor... :censored:
