Where did you get your version of ToEE? What official patches (if any) did you apply when installing the game? Are you using a no-cd cracked .exe, and if so, what size is it?

I also never knew about the whole options thing. When I read about it before I thought they meant the options tab in the game. haha whoops

Yeah I missed the options thing first time too. Lost a bunch of stuff in an activating screw-up, had a broken save because I didn't 'run as administrator...'

Golly gosh, it actually pays to read the documentation! Who'da thunk it?

You know, I think it may be time to address the no-cd issue in the install instructions. It seems like every other problem lately has been due to people using the wrong no-cd, and most of them are like me - the game won't work w/o a crack.

I know Co8 has always been leery of any official reccomendation for installing the no-cd, but maybe a note that if you are going to use it, you have to use the 33kb patch 2 version would be appropriate.

I uninstalled, deleted everything that I have collected and am waiting for the Keep to complete download. I'll try everything fresh. Hope that works. Vista? I'll stick with XP until the end.

TOEEFEX works just fine on Vista 32bit. Not sure about 64bit version.

After working beautifully for months (well...maybe weeks, I don't know), the ToEE Front-End X (version 2, I think) won't run. I keep getting a microsoft message saying it can't run.

I'm using ToEE 5.5.0, everything was loaded correctly, and -- as I said -- I've been playing it for some time now w/o problems.

I was just getting ready to go down to L4 in the Temple, and was in Hommlet, resting.

    HELP! HELP HELP

Can I just reinstall the FE over again? Will I lose where I am at?

    Windows XP, SP3 (I think)
Windows Firewall and AVG Resident Shield both on (which hasn't been a problem before)
The error report says: TFE-X has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The exception report is very long and I don't know how to copy it.

I don't know exactly where the log file is. I think I found it. Hopefully, here it is.

Can I use the repair kit for this?

I did use the console to change stats to some degree...but it didn't cause any problems before, so I assume they would be considered minor changes. I didn't change anything else that I can remember...

No matter how far you have to go to fix it, you can always save the player file and the save file in another folder in a safe place. They are in the Modules file under ToEE. Then fix the game and replace the files.

Until someone with a clue tells you better, try reinstalling just the front end. TFE-X v2.2 has it's own thread under Other Downloads. ;)
