    Wow, looks like I picked exactly the right time to hear about this mod and re-install TOEE. :D The reported beta bugs don't sound game-breaking, and I'm comfortable playing beta. Maybe I'll even find fresh bugs. I'm curious though, what kind of development cycle are we looking at? And perhaps more importantly, will beta saves be compatible with the final release?

    (Topic says "discussion," so I hope this post is kosher.)

    Hi tejon -

    I moved this post here because this is moreso a basic discussion thread while the other is geared toward bugs and gameplay issues specifically.

    Development cycle - unfortunately we don't really have one. People mainly just chug along at their own pace and turn stuff in whenever they feel like it. It's always been that way with the Co8 modpack. :shrug: Most likely this version will come out of beta not when a bunch of new stuff has been added, but when any/all serious bugs have been identified and fixed. I'd estimate maybe another month or two.

    Saves - they may or may not be compatable with the non-beta, depending on what files have to be modded. We'll probably require a fresh start just to be on the safe side.

    Welcome to the forums and we hope you enjoy the mod. :)

    I have another bug report...

    Seems that when I cast Spiritual Weapon, a spell which I LOVE, it confuses the enemy.

    They just walk around it- back and forth a few steps each round, trying to "get to it," I believe, and never attack it.. round after round. This seems to happen at least 50% of the time I cast it, maybe more-current party is about level 5 so I havent tried it in the Nodes or Temple yet... this is wilderness and Moathouse events.

    Not that I don't like tying up an enemy at no cost to me, but it isn't in the vein of fairness so....

    hello all

    i've a problem with letting cutom portraits work. all i did was replacing the co8 portrait no. 1070-1074 with another portraits with the exact same name and same size and are tga. the game does only show the portrait while creating a new character and in the character selection window. when i choose him into the party it doesnt show the portrait like it is ingame.
    i tried it then with an default co8 portrait and all worked properly.

    anyone has a solution?

    and another thing. i noticed the limit of 48 portraits has been changed since there are like 80+ now. can i still add more than that?

    please help

    I just did the waterside hostel with a barbarian, Fruella and Riana. The barbarian and Fruella's weapons were set to non-lethal to save the women. On exit, the guy outside went combat and did him. Went over by Mona and combat again with her, Serena, the village women and Sammy. Fought them all but Mona went dead. The weapons were still on non-lethal and the others just went unconsious. Went up to the safehouse and Preston went hostile but the pirate didn't. Botched the orb quest because Mona went dead. Too wierd. Just like butcher of Hommlet, only in Nulb, but with no such rep in the logbook. Never seen nothing like this before. Any clues?

    To replace an exsisting portrait with another one, the new one must be totally ToEE compatible. Tga, size, border, etc and put in mes exactly right. You might be missing something. Recheck what you've done and try again.

    Glad to see Co8 still going strong.

    In 5.5.0, should I still be able to find an extraplanar chest in the usual place (brains ... brains...)?

    I ask because I can't find it (I mean the freebie chest, I can still find the scrolls).

    I've encountered the Jayfie dialog problem (blank), and the stakable ammo problem. Also, I've had more CTD's than I'm used to on previous installs (this is a new one .. followed the instructions and started fresh with 5.5.0 on a Vista system that had never had ToEE installed ... old version still installed on an XP system). I find myself saving a lot more often.

    One bit of weirdness ... in the zombie moathouse encounter, I've had a turned zombie run off to where Lubash is. If I flee or otherwise leave the level (I've had it end combat, but keep playing combat music with Lubash ignoring me), going back to that level (either through the zombie roor or the secret door to Lubash, I get an instant CTD. To get around it, I make sure I kill all the zombies before any run off towards the ogre.

    yes its all the same like the existing ones expect the bitsperpixel in the original colour is 24 instead of 32, but that should not make any difference.
    the thing is i used that portrait in co8 5.0 final and it worked, but now it doesnt. strange

    Per chance, are you Turning the zombies? I've had problems with them running all over the dungeon, causing great headaches, after Turning them, but no CTD's.

    Yes, I was turning the zombies. The zombie that causes the problem (for me) has always come from the room to the south (with the secret door). Usually it happens right after I've finished off the rest of the zombies (with the exception of that room). I believe I've had it happen where the zombie in question is included in combat (so I fled since I thought I wasn't prepared to face the ogre, returned to the level later and CTD) as well as where the zombie wasn't part of combat (but was turned). I followed him on this latter occasion and combat music played, but the zombie wasn't with the ogre and the ogre was ignoring me. I left the level and came back and CTD. The CTD was repeatable with the initial scenario since I had saved after leaving the level, but I didn't try to repeat it in the latter scenario. To avoid the problem, I brought character to the south room at the beginning of combat to take care of those zombies before they could run off.
