@grandmj59, your CMF submissions post has been moved back here to the discussion thread.

Your installation sounds severely damaged. However, we'll soon be releasing an entirely new modpack that should (or may, depending on what your issues really are) resolve everything for you. It's probably best just to wait for that.

Thanks for the response. I know for now I'm out of luck, but the only thing not downloaded was my original CD's and they worked relative well outside all the old bugs we experienced. Any off the wall ideas willing to try anything. i'm not the patient sort if it keeps me busy til the release I'll try it. Thanks in advance.

    You might try this build:

    ToEE
    Patch 2
Co8-5.0.0 (Has the old front end)

And check and see how it works. If it's good. Start adding 5.0.6 and all the patches.

    That's where I am. ;)

Ok, sorta found the problem but now I need some serious help. I just unistalled everything and installed just the disc so I could check step by step and when the game loaded it said c08 mod pack version 5.0.6 and I had the same problem. I checked my Atari folder and inside the TOEE folder it had the Front End.exe and Cumulative Mod Pack. Obviously those shouldn't be there yet. That seems to be the source of the problem, what I don't know is, after just installing the CD what should I have in the TOEE folder??? Can anyone help???

When you uninstalled everything did you just use the Uninstall option or did you go the Add/Remove programs and manually remove everything.

Uninstall removes most, but not all of the files. You'll still need to use the Add/Remove options to clean out everything else.

Sorry to say that you may be looking at another complete reinstal.. Don't worry... it gets easier every time, TRUST ME. I've must have one this at least 6 times when v5.0.6 came out.

This is after installing JUST the game disks? Obviously, you didn't delete EVERYTHING. Before I reinstall, there is NOTHING left from ToEE in the Programs folder, not even the Atari folder. You can try playing musical folders if you like. Or just delete the Atari folder and start from scratch. assuming there are no non-ToEE games there. If there are, just delete the ToEE folder in the Atari folder. Uninstall doesn't really remove much. ;)

I don't like to tread in unfamiliar territory. I always use the Add/Remove Programs to remove everything.

Just to be safe, after you use the Add/Remove Programs, you should probably use Windows Explorer to delete the whole ToEE folder. I guarantee that will take care of those loose files for you!

Ok, so here's where I am. I finally got EVERYTHING!! deleted, I found them hiding..... oh sorry what was I saying. I reloaded the disc, everything cool, applied patch 2, everything ok, started trial game after each just to test. I then loaded 5.0.0 Final.exe, loaded game and said that I had a conflict with a data and data.5.0.0 file and needed to delete 1 or combine them, combineing them made problem go away. Tested after went ok. Then extracted 5.0.6 cumulate mods and fixes to game file, started the FE selected random characters to test as always and every time I hit 'begin adventure' I "encounter a problem" and CTD. anymore help?????

Sorry grandmj59, but that's just hopelessly fubared. By combining those folders, you've got some of everything and all of nothing. In other words, virtually guaranteed CTD.

You really should just wait for the new modpack. I promise it's not that far off. Play a NWN mod in the meantime or something. You'll be so much happier that you waited.

    NWN = Neverwinter Nights

Are you SURE that everything is gone before you install the game? No folders. Nothing? ;)

Of course neverwinter nights...where is my head. And yes GA82 as of this point I have made sure everything is deleted. Now here's where I'm @. I've installed everything as you (GA82) suggested. As of there everything works fine...I've been playing all afternoon, but if I add the cumulative mod pack 5.0.6 then it starts acting up. Not sure why????
