i have a character (playing 5.5) with a permanent protection from fire spell, so i went to see jaroo to get it dispelled. not only does jaroo not dispel it but he inflicts MASSIVE damage when he tries, as much as 1300 points of damage. is this a known bug or am i just lucky that way oop:
I think Jaroo says it's pretty risky, so... you just got unlucky. But to be serious. Jaroo has to kill your PC to get rid of the spell permanency bug... at least he did it with mine too. Did he resurrect your character afterwards?
"First I have to relieve you of this mortal suffering that is causing your problem...." <1300 points damage> "And now I will just... O dear, I didn't prepare any resurrect spells this morning. O well, perhaps you will be reincarnated as something that doesn't get spell permanancy bugs..."
actually when i tried to reincarnate,jaroo said he was already dead :google: although i havent tried to raise him myself,and the spell effect animation is still on the dead character
