why is there no place where you can download modules that other people made? sure you can make a whole new game but you cant share it with anyone. P.S. if there is a place point me in the right direction.
What modules have other people made besides Keep on the Borderlands? As for other mods - e.g. expansions for ToEE and such - you might try looking for downloads in the Downloads forum. Rest assured there is no conspiracy here to suppress user-made mods. If you are a member of the community and you make some independant mod for ToEE and it works, we will very likely host it for you.
If no-one has heard about these cool mods, how do you know there are cool mods that no-one has heard of? Seriously is this some 0rion thing (whose mod we actually do support in a round-about way, bizarrely enough) or are you just causing trouble? We know there are no other mods because making a mod without the official tools is an insanely complicated thing to do, and KotB only came out after a massive GROUP effort. If there is anyone out there making mods, they would come here and ask questions - they couldn't make any sort of decent mod otherwise, any more than KotB could have been made without us all discussing and contributing to any number of elements of it. We are certainly not trying to suppress or derail new mods. We want new mods. We encourage new mods. We give advice, make tools, write tutorials, answer questions, offer suggestions. but despite this, there do not appear to be any other new mods either made or on the horizon.
I present to you a list of known mods for ToEE... Vicks & Wedge's mod (there is a ToEEFE version hosted here) 0rion79's mod (there is a ToEEFE version hosted here) Livonya's mod (there is a ToEEFE version hosted here) Shiningted's mod (there is a ToEEFE version hosted here) Previous versions of the Co8 mod (there are numberous versions hosted here) Current version of the Co8 mod (there are numberous versions hosted here) KotB mod (there are numberous download locations listed here) If there are any mods that are not listed here, please name and link them and we can make ToEEFE versions and likewise host them here.
On Orion79 I got 30 hits, and pages and pages. OMF*****gG. I was a f*****g lurker then, and I f*****g missed all that! Am I a clueless noob? I don't have a clue! Thanks for the heads up, Kimosabe. ?(Gracias por la cabeza arriba, Quien lo sabe.)? Mi Espanol is muy Tejano.
I just worked through some of the Orion79 stuff. YOU GUYS HAVE AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF PATIENCE AND FOREBEARANCE! After doing an amazing amount of nitpicking, repetitive, endless work for ages to create wonderful well-balanced, well-thought-out mods, with updates on top of that, then to deal with complex issues of people modding other peoples' mods while working together towards multiple, sometimes-conflicting goals, and then dealing with personality issues... (I get tired just rereading this.) And all this for free, if not less... [The space-time continuum has just ripped while the author has tried to think of a way to give a sufficient Thank You.]
Hehe...the literal translation of "heads up" it's funny enough...but the Kimosabe translated to "quien lo sabe" really cracked me up!! :aaaa: If you've used a program, aparently interpreted something like this (i can't explain it, but i'll translate so you can take your conclusion): Ki ---> quien ---> who mo ---> lo ------> (no translation) sabe -> sabe ----> knows ______________________ Kimosabe/quien lo sabe/who knows Btw...i've said "nameS"...check the other too :transform
No, I didn't use a program. Texas (Tejas) used to be part of Mexico until 1836, and the border is still very porous, so the hispanic roots still run strong around here. It's still very easy to pick up some "Tex-Mex". "Kimosabe" is what Tonto used to call the Lone Ranger. "(Man) who knows" is my (Anglo) guess as to what "Kimosabe" means. Everyone knows what "cabeza" means. And "arriba" is used as "more". "Lo" seems to be an object of a sentence as in "Lo ciento." One of my favorite "translations" is "nino de vaca" for cowboy instead of "caballero" (Got that from a "Yankee".)
