Just heard about the passing of E. Gary Gygax. I can't begin to count the hours of enjoyment I got out of the game he created. Not only from playing the game itself, but the fun and comaradrie rolling the dice with good friends. Thanks for the memories Gary. Rest in peace.
I just learned about his death from this thread. I'm glad I found out here. I wonder what my life would have been like without him. Imagine all the the time we spent and the satisfaction we gained from all the the things that flowed from his work.

Move over "Ghostriders" there's a new Rider in the sky! RIP Gary and thanks for the contiuning memories.
My first d&d books were the Crystal Shard trilogy, and I loved them. Then came Gord, and how could you go wrong with that unit?! Thanks Gary, for giving me something to forget the reality of the world , and at least for a time to let me live in a world where evil is bad and good is good. You are a legend mate, cheers to you!!!
When i had first heard the ill news i was sitting around my living room with a few friends. "Damn"...my friends ask me who he was/is/shalleverbe and of course its the typical "lol u dork". I hadn't thought of it once since...I must admit while reading this thread i got a little teary eyed. Of course there is Tolkien but i cant help but wonder if i would be an entirely different human being had it not been for Gary. Would my minds eye have seen the beauty of the Vallen Wood trees in Autumn? Had i never met Sturm would i treat the women in my life differently? Am i a bigot never having suffered countless injustices with Drizzit? Is Gary Gygax indirectly responsible for the man i am today lol? What if they never send that 1st domino on its way...i wonder. Thats my post for this year.
A big loss for the RPG community. I should thank him for all the endless hours of fun he has provided me. RIP
I may be late, but I am back, and in addition to other places on the 'Net I have posted, I would be remiss not to do so here... I was SHAPED by EGGs influence, my whole life. I love DnD and Gary was to DnD what Ray Croc was to McDonalds- the man who MADE the brand. The soul of the invention. You will always be missed, Gary, but I am sure you will have some truly AWESOME Lejendary DnD games with God!!
