I've read in a couple of posts that if you add +1 to any armor and save, the armor will have +3 applied to it when you open the craft magic arms and armor dialog again. In theory this is great. In practice, guess again. Any time you open any magical arms in the Craft armor box it automatically gets +1 +2 and +3 added to it in the list, but if you look at the actual values (either in AC breakdown or combat rolls), its listed as the "real" value that was initially added. So if you've got a Chainmail +1 and open it in craft armor it gets listed as +3, but is still only +1. Problem is, now there's no way to make it +3. :cross: Sorry if this has been fixed in any of the latest patches, but I didn't see mention of it in the readmes and I'm a little hesitant to install the 304 fan fix again since it completely messed up ALL the text (from radial menu to item descriptions) last time I installed it.
Ok, I tried repeating what you described. Bought my Sorc a Masterwork Leather which is 2 armor/6 max dex bonus. Then went to Craft, made it +1 and clicked create. Result is a Leather armor +1 as expected which is 3 armor/6 max dex bonus. Seems ok to me. Verified this on AC breakdown. No bugs here. Hmm... actually I think that bug which you described went like this: If you click Create IMMEDIATELY on any masterwork/magical armor, it goes to +3 instantly. Just retested this with the Green Elven Chain which is 6 armor/4 max dex bonus, clicked Create and it became 8 armor/4 max dex bonus. Verified this from AC breakdown. This isn't the fault of moebius's dll. This bug has been with us since the very beginning of ToEE. As for messing up text and descriptions... the current install seems fine... I don't see any disparity. Just tried creating a +2 Flaming Frost Mace from a +1 Mace and it works... looked at crafting wondrous items... seems ok too... Can you be a bit more specific? In short, Craft Arms and Armor is bugged and in more than 1 way. Please refer to the list at Atari for the full description of how badly bugged it is. However these are old bugs which are probably untouched by the moebius's dll.
Retested, but seems fine. Thanks for checking that. I did a clean install last night and added the latest fan patch, moebius dll etc. and now everything seems to work just great. The messed up text happened from the moment you started playing (even in the opening vinyettes(??), but that has also stopped happening. Guess some file or two must've been corrupted, coz everything's hunky dory now. I've actually stopped feeling the urges to rewrite the game.
