Verbobonc - Merchant's Wont Sell

When I go to the lady that sells the scrolls in Verbobonc, I click on the "My, what a fine selection of scrolls you have". Nothing happens.

Is there a way to fix this?

 

Edit: I was confused as usual. I see you stealth updated 5.0.5. I'm not particularly complementary on this habit as it leaves some of us out of date mods with errors, unknown to us. But I doubt there is much to be done to better the situation either. Thanks for the fix Allyx & Co, this is bugged in my 5.0.5 game as well atm..

I looked in the downloads section, and it is confusing.

Also, would I need to re-start the game after applying this fix?

I'm not Allyx, but hopefully I can cut down on his workload a bit.

The 5.0.5 CMF can be found ---> here <---

The link is about 2/3 the way down the first post. Read the installation instructions in the OP carefully.

And yes, if you install the CMF you will need to start a new game - old saves will not be compatable.

 

Standard CMF rules still apply Allyx? ie delete the .PYC files in the SCR folder and clear game cache?

 

Ah, my mistake. I thought he had said he was running 5.0 w/o a CMF, but I must have confused it with another thread.

This worked like a charm.

The weapon merchant is now there as well, and the game doesn't CTD when backtracking in the Drow dungeon.

I am having this problem (scroll merchant won't sell) now, with the CMF 5.0.5 currently in play. The first version of the CMF that I installed (this time around) was the 5.0.5 available on April 6.

Not seeing any other merchants in Verbobonc, either, even though I did rescue a bunch of them from Temple level 1 (read somewhere that was a prerequisite to finding them there). Where exactly are they supposed to be?

The fix must've gotten nuked since somehow, I'm afraid.

EDIT: Hmm, rereading old threads, apparently it's some merchants in level 2 I have to rescue, not the ones on level 1. Mmkay, I go back and try to find them, will report if they show up. The girl with the scrolls definitely isn't selling though.

And btw, the gnome quest (drow) was -awesome-, very well done and a lot of fun, too bad I was too high level (9th) for it to be much of a challenge, can't wait to try it once it's been rebalanced Drow and dragons should be tougher than 6th level anyway

Well, I found the two merchants on level 2. I offer to escort them to Verb, they say sure, but then I only get one dialogue option, along the lines of: "Well, I can't take you right now, there's something else I have to take care of first." Do I have to first get to Verbobonc some other way? (I restored an old save, I haven't been to Verbobonc yet at this point). If not, then any clue what's wrong?

Good news! I got Ariel to open up her merchant shop.

Basically, if you ask her about her scrolls the first time you ever talk to her, or after that upon first starting conversation, it won't work. But if on your second and subsequent conversations with her you say "Hello again!" and -then- take the next "That's quite a selection of scrolls" option, it will work.
