Hey, I need some help. I tried to install the ToEE patch 2 (my directory is the default one on C:\, but I dont think it matters, does it?) and it gives me an error of an invalid patch file. Someone told me that you cant install the patch after the Co8 patch, so I tried after I completely reinstalled ToEE (so there are no patches now) and it still gives the same error of an invalid patch file. I tried to install the ToEE patch 1 and it didnt work too. :\ My system is: 2.4Ghz P4, XP Home SP2, 128MB ram, 64MB Geforce 4 MX. Thanks!
Yes, its the English version, on CDs (not downloaded). And I completely uninstalled it, then I installed again. (The directory was completely deleted).
Do you have the no CD version? So you uninstall TOEE completly delete the folder that may stay behind, then install again put patch one then two then CO8 Mod and it dont work?
No. I bought the CDs originaly from a store with the original box and all stuff. I completely uninstalled (deleted registery and directory), installed the ToEE again, and when I try to install the official Atari patches (1 or 2) it gives the error of an invalid patch file in the start of the update.
Have you tried re-downloading the Atari patches? Maybe the files are corrupt. You only need Patch 2, by the way. It contains all fixes from Patch 1.
I redownloaded the patches at least 10 times already - not working. If someone would be so kind and upload patch that he installed on his comp to the internet, I'll be grateful.
Having problems patching downloaded version!!!HELP ??? Well folks I sure need some help, dont know ware else to turn.... I bought the downloaded version of ToEE, and installed it last night, it went nice, got the picture movie to play, then went to the start screen. I then exited the game and got an interrupt from Windowxp, that said this "Error Signiture AppName:toee.exe AppVer 0.0.0.0. ModName:ntdll.dll ModVer:5.1.2600.2180 offset:0018fea also under all this where a hip of other stuff..... but check this out I only get this interrupt when i exit the game........Now I used to have the CD versions of this game but I got mad and upset with the damm BUGS....especialy the Savegame one that corrupted the saves, Man I must have started that game around 30 more times, but that savegame bug, did me in at last. So now I read all this great news about updated patches and the co8 mod one, And I thought , well let me download this paid one from " Trymedia " and give it another try.....Well did that, then went to the atari page to get the patch 2, but here I read on the read me file, its not for the downloaded version, well it felt like I got kicked by a mule........( Is the downloaded version, already patched, or updated)........Any help here........I downloaded the co8 mod and it sure found where I had the game installed, with no problems........So if any humanitarian player out there could help me out some, I could again enjoy a great game and maybe return the help to others that may have the same problems I have.....Thanks.....................Ullekhambone
A Newbie's Experience I sympathize with your frustration having reinstalled this game four times and having returned the disks to Wal-Mart for another copy thinking I had a bad disk. My error was that the Computer (HP Pavilion 3.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, ATI Rage 9200) was not recognizing the disk as an original. Solution: I made all the recommended changes from the Atari site; not much help. Last try was an install from my DVD ROM instead of the DVD Burner/CD Burner (a faster drive). I have a similar problem with Knights of the Old Republic, but I was dying to get the AD&D 3.5 version working. Otherwise, I have DirectX 9.0c, current drivers for everything (brand new PC in March 2004), and XP Professional SP2 (which I highly recommend). These caused no problems for me. Tune your XPsp2 Firewall for normal usage; it didn't seem to mess up the game for me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND updating your antivirus definitions and scanning your computers from SAFE MODE (F8). Also I would download "Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3" and "Ad-Aware 6.0" from DOWNLOAD.COM, install both, update both sets of definitions online, and scan your computers with BOTH from SAFE MODE (F8). I religiously keep my PC Clean, and the game is working like charm for me now, aside from the expected glitches since I have not yet installed the Co8 Patch. I hope this recommendation helps. GOOD JOURNEY AND FAIR WEATHER... MERKLYN
You know what....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will out line some of the problems am having with the game. 1> I cant loot, for example when i killed the gambler npc in the Wench Inn after i cought him cheating and got my reward from the barkeep, I was able to loot his body, since he was dead. 2> When I did the drinking contest in the same Inn and some of the dudes were unconceous (forgive my spelling) I could not loot any of there bodies. 3> I have the downloaded version of ToEE from Trymedia, none of the patches work for it, this I know, but I was able to download and install the Co8 latest patch with no problem, and get it to install. 4> I read about a lot of fixed that were made to the co8 patch, like the fog of war, its still there, did i do something wrong during install, or do i need to edit stuff. 5> I also downloaded your Temple dlls patch, but i dont know ware to put each of the files that came up after I unziped it to my desktop, could you help me some. 6> I used to have the cds of ToEE, but got tired of not being able to progress in the game due to that, savegame Bug!!!!!! 8> I want to thank you in advance for any help you could give me.
