    It is my understanding that using counterspells is in limbo [broken and worthless] in terms of the ToEE game, not just improved counterspells. (I am suggesting from others' discussions it is more than merely bugged.)

    got to the folder you instaled ToEE to, then open modules, if you were playing vanillia ToEE and want to use the same characters in a Co8 patch with frontend, you'd then go into ToEE/players and thats where you're PCs are, copy them and paste them into Co8-5.0.0/players and there you go.

    By the way thanks for all the help.

    Is there a way to take a game save and players from one computer to another where both compuers have Co8?

    Do what Cujo said as it also applies between computers, too. However, you will need to use a CDR disk and CD writing software or use a USB memory stick to copy files between computers.

    K thanks, is it best to adventure with all 8 or a lesser amount of companions?

    Whenever you get XP for something it is a certain amount and that amount is divided between the characters in your party. So, fewer characters = more XP each. But that's the only real advantage to having fewer party members.

    For me, it's just not the same game since I can use 7 or 8 PCs. I mean, the tactical advantages are endless, you just have SO many party combinations that it makes ToEE a game like no other I've seen (on the RPG matter).

    I even like playing with all the different styles: a Wizard or Sorcerer gives you a lot of fun when they start adding spells and being more and more powerful in their magic, a Barbarian or Ranger gets you a lot of fun with the close-up side of the battles, a Fighter can let you customize it with all their feats as if you were on "Pimp my player" with Xzibit (or whatever his name, I can't remember right now :D), a Cleric gives you a lot of buff-up options and their Domain Powers are always different (according to their deities), a Rogue gives you that insane sneak attack (try a rogue with Precise Shot, Improved Initiative and a Longbow, for some nice kick-off in every battle, or just get a melee rogue some Improved Feint and maxed-out Bluff, and it'll be just sweet), a Bard get's useful if you want to exploit the use of Fascination, a Druid with Augmented Summoning is lot's of fun, and a Paladin or Monk, despite their no-multiclass restrictions, always adds a lot to every party (especially monks, since their are so different from all the other classes).

    Believe me. You're entering the world of a -thanks to all this patches- tactical gem.

    7 PCs with 1 NPC slot left over is what is recomended because some NPCs will force their way into your party anyway and if they don't have a slot avalible they start to act strange.

    For example the prisioners that take you to Verbobonc, or Paida, or the famous Prince Thrommel...those need at least one Npc slot. (there are more, but i don't want to be "spoilerish" ;) )
    I think that if they don't have space and still admit them in the party they get attached like followers, much like any animal companion, and the problems start from that...don't know if this was fixed

    Hey everyone,

    I'm coming back to the game (I haven't played since the summer), and I wanted to make sure not to miss anything this time around. I think I missed the goblin cave last time b/c my levels were too high when I finally decided to go.

    Is there a thread or can anyone just tell me what levels I need to be to do certain things in the game. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey i am having trouble finding a use for my rogue in combat. She only seems to be good for talking, traps, locks and things like that. I cant seem to get the sneak attack off. I know the enemy has to be flat footed, immobilized or flanked right? how do i know when she is flanking the dude? are there feats or tactics i should use? i'm thinking dodge, mobility, spring attack, then just bounce around back and stab em with out worrying about attacks of opportunity. should i try that feint, bluff thing? improved feint lets you use a move action instead of a standard action right? but then isnt feinting non humanoids wicked hard?

    oh and i know most of the spells. but not all of them by heart. is there a quick pull up description of the actual effects when i'm selecting my cleric/wizard spells for the next rest?

    the humble option from the front end prevents NPC's from taking my stuff right? so that mage in the inn when he asks for the scrolls, does that mean that i do not have to give them to him? do NPC's leave my party? what is the difference between picking up an NPC and making my own PC.

    forgot... is there a way to turn on a 5 ft grid?

    To make sneak attack Your rogue should be at the opposite side of enemy than another team mate. You don't need any additional feat, as rogues are always given Sneak Attack already on level 1. Some points in tumble skill may help thou, as You need to get on opponents back. Sneak attack also works on helpless enemies, e.g.. blind, uncontentious.

    You can see if flanking works by checking Roll History. It will give You a bonus on hitting rolls and it will be listed there.

    The game doesn't use a concept of grid, just distances , and I consider it a big plus.

    Anyway I suggest You read the manual, then most of Your problems will be solved.
