I found Sorcerer's Place by search, looking for fixes and cheats and mods. There I found Co8 stuff, and loved it. Came over here, and didn't lurk long; I had too many questions! They've always been answered. Also, I agree: it's very friendly here, I felt welcome as a newb.
How I got here? It's all Gaear's fault. He dragged me over from the old Atari forum to join in the discussion. :help:
Zhuge invited me over a few times when we were both on the old Atari boards. At the time, I was involved with modding BG2, and couldn't get into modding another game, but I came over and started to lurk here now and then. Kind of snowballed from there. I regret I didn't get more active earlier (not that I'm all that active now).
Interesting, OB . . . mind telling us who you were over there? (Apologies if you were 'Old Book' and I just forgot.)
I remember reading their posts in threads over there with the name Lord_Spike and Gaear, too. They were cool over there as well.
I registered in April 2006 (thanks to whoever made it list under my name) and lurked awhile before and after I joined. I noticed Co8 after searching for hints about ToEE and I was instantly hooked by the mods y'all have made. I've been trying to post more and help other newbs out there the way y'all've helped me, trying to give a little something back (since I'm not making much headway learning how to mod, but still trying) to the community. By the way, "y'all've" is a classic Texas double conjunction. :wyatt:
you know I'd say "the mods you've'all made" altho New Zealanders like to talk like this "Wehudfush'n'nchupsfortea?"
I signed up to the Atari forum after hunting for solutions to the DX9.0c / SP2 looting bug, was directed almost immediately towards Moebius2778's temple.dll and the 3.0.4 patch which I downloaded, and enjoyed. Signed up to Co8 about that time too, and after completeing the game, and lurking in General Modification for a while reading up on Morpheus' Arena of Heroes Mod.and Livonya's Traps/kids mod I decided to have a crack at granting my own wish from the wishlist thread - making a Wakizashi. I subsequently went on to build a whole bunch of new items, made them available in the game through crafting, made the shopmap, built the Verbobonc mod and spammed the Co8 boards almost as much as Ted has.
They better not! :chainsaw: I must have signed up just after Allyx, but I thought he was one of the long-termers and spent much time in awe of him  Now I know better :stoned:
ShiningTed is definitely the King of Spam , the Spam King and the owner of all other magnificant Spam titles.
Ah, what the heck.... After seeing TOEE in a sams club rack and thinking "no F'in way!!!" I bought the thing only to have problems running in on my PC. Going to the atari forums and reading up on the apparent problems with the game itself, I put it in away in the hopes it would be patched up. Went back to the Atari forums almost a year later (wife and I had a baby) and found my way to Co8. Its been all good from there. I think I signed up when I put a vote on the toolset release thread. Guess I lurked until now. BTW: Not to get off on a tangent, but, to all those who have done the hard work to make this game rock....Thanks. Really. :notworthy It's been many, many, years since I've visited Barrier peaks, the Wild Coast or Hommlet, and this game has given me tons of enjoyment...a little blast from the past if you will.
