    Re: Common Issues and Solutions

 I downloaded your mod for fixing the loot bug but still does not work. I've tried contacting Atari tech help but there is no place to email or even a number to call tech support. I used to play this game on my old system[which i gave to my nephew] and i really had no problems with it. I've tried using your search and have typed in looting bug; looting; looting fix; TOEE; and it keeps saying no match found. Am i doing something wrong? can anyone help me with the looting? I have installed patches 1&2 but not 3 because i was told not to if i was downloading your fixes. i have an Emachine w/1024 MB 2.0 G athalon prossesor, Nividia Geforce onbaord grafix w/ XP home sp2. WWhat can i do? i kind of new @ talking to people on line so please be nice. thanx::peace

I've separated this post from the "Common Issues and Solutions" thread because it's a problem report, not a workaround.

@Agetian, I was gonna do that but got distracted for a while first.

@klanfett1, Have you installed the Co8 mod pack? Every Co8 mod pack since 4.0.0 has had the loot bug fix included as standard. As you haven't mentioned the Co8 part of your installation, I'm assuiming you haven't installed it yet.

The Atari patch 3 will fix the looting bug, as will the Moebius2778 Temple.dll (you should find it in the downloads section) if you don't want to try the latest Co8 patch yet.

Thanks for your feed back. Your doing more than Atari is doing. They haven't even acknoleged my existance. Yes I downloaded the CO8 mod but really didn't read through the file. And I also downloaded the atari #3 patch but haven't installed it since I reinstalled the game [about 12 times]. should i go in and completly remove all files in HD or will it be alright to reinstall without complete wipe? I have a couple characters I created that I would hate to lose. My nephew took my zip drive so I don't know how to keep them if I have to wipe all files of the game. Tahnks you guys your a big help. I'm going to try reading the read me files with mod 5, and see if I can over come this obstacle. I'll be in touch. If I'm writing in the wrong thread please let me kow, I'm new @ this. And where exactly can I find the download section. I guess I'm not to bright when it comes to computer hacking, HA HA

I was going to post this at some point anyways, but I might as well put it up now.

All the downloads you need are linked in the installation thread I've linked in my last post. Just click on the links there :)

    A Clean Install

This is not needed by most people, however it would seem that ToEE can be a little touchy if new files are installed over old ones. I am giving a quick guide to how I obtain a clean install, but as with absolutely any advice given on the internet, you use it at your own risk and in the knowledge that if you screw up, it’s your fault and your PC may die. You have been warned!

First, obtain a programme called Crapcleaner. http://www.ccleaner.com/. It’s free. Install the programme. Read the instructions on how to backup your registry so you know what to do if things go wrong.

If you want to save any characters, you need to find the folder called ‘players’ within Atari/ToEE and copy it to somewhere safe. I wouldn’t advise trying to reuse old saved games because they can be so easily corrupted.
Then uninstall ToEE (if currently installed).
Then find the Atari/ToEE folder and delete it.
Then run Ccleaner. Run the components for Cleaner>Windows, Cleaner>Applications and Issues.
(Usually, at this point I defragment my harddisk but that’s just my personal preference).
Then reinstall ToEE according to the instructions in the stickied thread.
If you want to put back in your old characters, go to Atari/ToEE/Modules/Co8-5.0.0 and replace the contents of your saved folder ‘players’ there.

Hopefully, you’ll now have a lovely clean install.

@erkper: You're right. No real support, not really, but now they have an official excuse to not support ToEE.
