Hi. Can anyone tell me some tips to kill those nasties. Seems like most weapon don't affect them. Suggested spells?
Heh, I just had my first run in with them and they are nastier than I was expecting to run into at that point! Flame Strike worked pretty well for me and the couple of Holy weapons I have seemed to work the best. I used a couple of summoned creatures and 5' steps to get my rogue sneak attacks. Those did most of the damage against them and I ended the firght with only my Wizard unconscious. Boyd
Scather + Belt of Giant Strength + Maxed Power Attack (since Scather never misses) seems to work pretty good. The rest of the my party pretty much just held them back while my fighter chopped them all down one by one.
Unfortunately i do not own that weapon and, if i'm not mistaken, that's because i didn't escort Prince Thrommel out of the dungeon (my party was full).
you can get him to follow you though if you offer to lead him. Head off to the secret entrance from the bandits tower and the prince will follow you there, you can't get him all the way out since he'll only follow for one level, but if the wizard attacks you there then so will the prince, so you can kill him and loot him, you will take a bit of damage though, that sword is fierce.
It bothers me that Galeb-Duhr are not considered "Earth Elementals" for the purposes of the Shatter spell. Maybe I'm not up on 3.5ed D&D, but they sure seem like they should be susceptible to me - they would have been in 1st Edition! Maybe someone who knows the code for the script files could suggest a modification we might make that would cause Galeb-Duhrs to be treated as such!
I finally managed to kill all of them using a lot of fire-based spells. I agree with the above post. Shatter *should* affect them.
