Don't know if this is an error, but no matter how high I set the maximum level I can't go beyond 20th.

Well, going beyond 20th would require programming in the Epic Level rules. Considering you can only get up to maybe 15th level without cheating and can easily beat the game by that point, there's no real need.

The level cap maxes out at 20. That is the highest the game will support ( and as yet does not support it for all classes). The check box and number in Front End are only for lowering the level cap. If you leave the box unchecked, the level cap will be 20.

And no, this really isn't an error with Front End.

I guess we should state somewhere in the installation instructions that the max level is 20.

Agetian: Could you implement an error message when the user enters a max level value > 20?

Sure, Morph. Will do so in some time - I'm too obsessed with updates to ToEEWB atm in order to switch to anything else, but I'll pencil it into my todo list and will do ASAP.

i installed ToEE:dance: , installed the atari patch 2:dance: , then installed the final Co8 patch (v.5.0.0.) , and when i double click the frontend application(or its shortcut) it says:

    TempleFrontend.exe - Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.:doublethu

Most likely that means you don't have .NET 2.0 or later installed. Front End requires that to run. It is mentioned and a link is provided in the install instructions that pop up when you run the 5.0.0 installer. Search for it on the forum and you should be able to find a link. I think there is one in the Common Issues and Solutions thread in the ToEE section.

    Grrr....now Im getting:

Error 0002: One of the game folders can't be accessed! Make sure no other application uses any of the folders, and then try again.

I've uninstalled both ToEEFE and ToEE itself twice and still get the same message. Im gonna try once more and see if I can get this straightened out. Anyone have any clue as to why this message would come up?

I've seen reference that this might be related to antivirus software - you don't happen to have Norton AV, do you? It seems to be the most-blamed AV on these boards (but it's never caused me any problems, at least not yet.)

Got it solved. One of my programs (and I still don't know which one it was) was using the Cloak template that Cujo had created. Why this happened, I have no clue.

How did you find out which file was being used by another?

Front-End was working quite fine with your test
release but when I downloaded the version 4.0
it started shooting errors no. 004 and 013 forcing
me to "activate" Co8 manually. Hmm any way of
possibly tackling the problem? Oh yeah... I also get the
    "couldn't find cave.mp3" error. :/

    Just downloaded Co8 5.0.0.

Tried to run the front end, and am receiving the files open errors, get it twice, error 0002 and 0003.

This is a brand new ToEE install, with SP1 & SP2 downloaded and installed prior to setting up the mod.

I have confirmed no windows open.
I do not have the .ini file in the ToEE root directory.

I am running Vista Ultimate(x64). Windows .net 2.0 is "part of the operating system".
I have set the front end .exe file to XP SP2 Compatibility.

Any more suggestions to get the front end to work?

Note I can get the ToEE game to run just fine, but want to try it this time with the mods in.

    Neil
