I share a love of this game and am very grateful for the hard work and devotion given by those of the Co8 and fully support them in this goal to have the official tools released. You can count me in and all the best to you

Would love to see the official tools released. IMO this is the only engine which comes close to a PnP experience. Sadly, ToEE may well be the last hurrah for those of us who prefer a faithful, turn-based implementation of D&D. Hopefully I am wrong and Turn Based D&D CRPG's are in the cards, but I'm not holding my breath. I would like to say thank you to everyone here who has worked to make ToEE the best D&D CRPG experience available. Please keep up the excellent modding work to make ToEE and KotB THE finest D&D CRPG experience bar none. Anything I can do to help get the official tools released, just say the word.

This is one of the few modern RPGs I still enjoy, and I absolutely LOVE this game(despite all the bugs). You got my vote!

Count me in. I think you guys have done a great job with what we were given. If I hadn't stumbled upon your site I would have uninstalled TOEE and "lost it" in my garage. The game is now worth playing and I wish there was more support by WotC to release further modules using an improved engine.

We almost hit 300 votes for. That's good... and sad... if you take
in account how much time it took for those votes to gather.

Personally I think that voting on this thread should be made a required part of the sign up process for the Co8 forums. ;)

I have just signed as well.

Is there really much chance of Atari releasing the toolset do you think?

I haven't dive yet in TOEE and CO8 Mod pack, but you have my vote.

The spirit of Troika lives through its fans at Terra Arcanum, Planet Vampire or CO8 !!!

    Hey, I'm with you.

I haven't posted much on your forum, but I have certainly enjoye the work y'all have put into this game. The mods are excellent. I hope Atari will give you the tools to make them even better.

From what I understand, ATARI nerfed the NWN community to sway players towards NWN2 and upcomming expansions. Your gonna need a heck of a proposal to get ATARI to release their tools for a competing product.

Maybe it would be worth going politely over their heads to Hasbro. Say that you brought a promising D&D product from ATARI that was flawed and wish to develop it further in a non-profit manner with a willingness to release any development for profit to ATARI and/Hasbro. Indicate that while you realise the program is dated for use on a PC, future implementation on handhelds like the DS may be a possibility.

I realise that you could probably punch holes in much of what I said but a brainstorming session with knowledgable modders here might come up with some useful ways to submit your proposal.

And yes, I'll put my John Hancok on the dotted line.

Thanks... but we actually have excellent tools to do what we do, thanks to Agetian (and Dulcaion, and Sapricon, and Phalzyr, and Zane, and Spellslinger... ;) ). The official tools would simply allow us to do everything (particularly make new animated models, so we could have new creatures - dryders, anyone? - and proper 3d backgrounds) and do some things a lot easier.

I don't think going to Hasbro would help: unfortunately, Atari have quite consistently withdrawn their support by stages from ToEE. We gotta live with that (imho).

Personally the best thing (for me) about this thread is that it is a constant reminder to us modders who soldier on that there are folks out there who appreciate our efforts. And for that I thank you :)

I'm not sure one producer is better than another but letting Hasbro know directly that the people they have licensed their product to are not responding to their customers may light a fire under ATARI to start paying more attention to public opinion on certain fronts.

I'm not of the beleif that we should skewer ATARI because I know they are just another group of people going into work every day trying to produce the best product they can with the resources they have. However, sometimes you have to go a little higher if your want your demands answered. If you have ever encountered a lack of support from a company by the first person who answers the phone, you can usually have them rethink their level of service to you by asking to speek with their manager or supervisor. The guy is probably just trying to stay on an unreasonable target set for him, but that doesn't mean you have to lose because of that.

Kind of rambling here but you get the jist. It may be futile but you never will know if you don't give it a shot. Obviously though, it would require someone who had the time to follow up on it regularily so that you didn't end up sinking to the bottom of Hasbo's or Atari's pile. If I had a little more time myself I would find it interesting to persue, maybe in another six months or so if I have more time. In the meantime however, I have customers chasing after me because I don't have the time to answer all their demands :p .
