Attacked with no cause? POssible spoiler included

OK, first off I'll apologize if this has been asked and answered but I havew searched many times and not found an answer to my dilemma.

I recently killed Lareth and his band of cronies as well as all the additional surprises. Nice changes even though the last encounter almost wiped my party. :)

In any event, I had freshly looted all bodies and switched out my cruddy armor with the nice shiny +1 breastplate and Plate boots of Lareth. I sauntered into the church of St. Cuthbert and to my surprise Calmert and Terjon kicked my A$$ with no warning or provocation. I had not sold off the jewelry and whatnot from Lareth yet, was it that that keyed the attack or was it the fact that I was wearing Lareths armor? Could it have been the Attack Dog I had Meleny Summon? This really wouldn't have been a big deal if I was playing in regular mode but idiot that I am, I was playing in Iron Man mode so essentially my saved game is FUBARED.

Two other items, Terjon says he'll resurrect any fallen members of my party but if someone actually does become worm food the option to ask for a res is not available from him. Also, to the best of my knowledge I cleared the Moathouse yet the quest still shows as uncompleted in my log book.

    Any ideas on these items?

    Thanks!!

well as to the moathouse clearer rep, if i remember right you will have to talk to burne and tell him about it first before its listed as done.

as to calmert and terjon attacking you the only reason i know of is if you have earned the butcher of hommlet rep. did you encounter any other people in town before going to the church? check your reps page of the journel and see which if any you have earned.

I do recall now that as I left the moathouse from the back exit I was attacked by some fellows from the Inn of he Welcome Wench. The dialog pretty much pushed straight to a melee and as I recall the fellows that attacked me were up to no good anyway. Could that fight have given me the butcher of Homlet rep? Other than that, I went to Jaroo first to have Meleny and my priest rezzed. I also went to sell off my extra weapons and armor to Jakk for the Leather stuff and the Smith for the rest. I took a quest from the Smith to get a chest opened, I did talk to the Osler but that was it.

Puzzling, I have rerolled my characters and am restarting in regular mode since my Ironman game loads to the beginning of the Church of St. Cuthbert incident.

If any Hommlett citizen gets killed, elmo, fruella, meleny,et and get raised you still get the butcher rep. There is a post on how to clear.

well if you talked to jaroo, jakk and smyth after you got back and before the church then you dont have the butcher of hommlet rep. if you did everyone in town would have attacked you on sight. as to the 3 outside the back door of the moathouse they are suppose to be there to ambush you anyway. so i have no idea what you could have done to provoke them short of an attack. i dont remember them doing that to me even when i had lareth in the party.

fyi - Some spells being cast in a room are interpreted by the game as an attack on NPC characters in a room even though your party is not attacking any of the NPC characters.
