    Hi all,

I have a question that's been driving me crazy for the past two days. I hope you can help.

I have 5.0.3 installed (although, in the "New" "Load" "Options" Screen all I can see displayed is 5.0.0. But that's a different story, I've tried fresh installs to no avail but it doesnt matter, it seems all the new content is there).

I got bored with my last party (I kinda went overboard with the char gen cheat..hehe) and decided to have a a go with a rather unorthodox one. True Neutral party, 1 dw fighter, 1 greataxe barbarian, 1 longbow cleric and 1 glaive wizard. Perhaps it doesnt sound very interesting to more experienced players but I was quite happy with it (used to always use 2 tanks, cleric, archer-ranger, wizard and rogue).

Anyways, onto my question! I spent a good deal of time creating the party (I particularly enjoy the creation process) and when I finally clicked the 'begin adventuring' button I was taken to Empress Jade shop as expected, did all my shopping and was sent to hommlet.

Everything was fine, I talked with the little kid that welcomes you to town. Well, I thought of going to Decklo Grove to try my party. When I got there I kicked some spider...er...behinds and was also ready to send those goblins packing back to goblinland except that....there were no goblins to be found at all!!

To be honest I'm not sure if they are actually goblins (dont know much about DnD) but you know the little critters that have a Jay's ring.

Now this is not a game-stoping issue itself (a quest more, a quest less) but I fear something might have happened to my game and some other stuff will also be different if I keep playing along! I would hate having to restart because of that.

So my question is, do you know if this lack of goblins at the grove means I seriously screwed the pooch with my game? Should I restall the whole thing? (please, oh please, tell me it isnt so!)

I restarted my game once (deleting chars and creating them from scratch) just to make sure I had the 5.0.3 module active. I also made sure to have the "play file" option active for the portrait pack. Apart from that I dont know what else to check.

    Can you help?

At the beginning choosing different alignments change a few of the things like the goblins there and stuff.

Actually, there aren't supposed to be any goblins there. If they were even there in the vanilla module (I'm not sure if they even were, since I only played it a couple times), they've been moved in one of the Co8 modules. Something else has Black Jay's ring now. It varies by alignment. Happy hunting. :)

If you want spoilage, do a search for the Goblin Gone thread to see what was modded.

Oh, oh! thanks for your replies everybody!

I always played with NG or LG parties, this is the first time I've tried a true neutral one and it never ocurred to me that alignment could have this sort of effects in-game

Now that you mention it, ShadowDragoon, I remember playing vanilla TOEE a couple of years ago (again, NG party) and not seeing any of them there so it was a very nice surprise when I installed all the co8 content and had to confront them after the spiders, which of course meant that I had my butt handed to me by a pack of poo-flinging monkeys...er..I mean, rock-throwing goblins.

The second time around I was ready for the little bastiges and when I looted their stinky corpses I found the ring and inmediately thought "brilliant! they got rid of that silly goblin just standing there by Jay's house" That was the beginning of a series of awesomness delivered by all the modders that've worked on this gem (again, mucho props to all of you!)

Thanks for the search tip Lord_Spike, I think I shall try to find out what happened to them the old fashioned way :)
