    Nor I.

    Suit yourself.

Mmm Hmmm. I just call 'em like I see 'em. And I see this as doo doo. Step in it if you like; you're paying for your own footwear.

I've found NPCs start combat on a lot of occations, the moat house - no talk with lareths guards, with that beggar guy who didn't pay his dues combat started with the tower sentinal (I also had lareth in the party at the time) the sentinal and lareth both said something way out of context and then a fight broke out (with out the beggar guy it all worked fine).

the NPCs starting combat for you is the reason I stoped using NPCs.

If it helps, I am playing 4.01 with 8 PCs in the party. We recently met Thrommel and we didn't enter combat mode automatically and were able to free him. The party alignment is LN.

We also didn't fight him last time I played (with NG party) either.

    Thanks Tim :)

ShadowDragoon, your multiple experiences in this regard, do they span various Co8 incarnations or were they all with 5.0.x?

Some of the earlier occurences probably happened with 4.0.x, but most of them were with 5.0.x.

    I have played numerous times using Co8 4 versions and Co8 5.0.0, 5.0.1, and 5.0.2. I have not played a Co8 5.0.3 game, yet.

I always have NPCs with my parties. (combos of Ronald, Melany, Serena/Riana, Fruella, Elmo, Otis)

More recently, games have been played on Windows XP. (NG alignment)

Some games were played on Windows 2000. (CG, NG, CN alignment)

A few games were played on Windows 98. (CG alignment)

Prince Thrommel has never attacked any of my parties.

Well if anyone has it happen, can they say so immediately so we can have a look at their last save?

Otherwise yeah, it might just be you S_D. Those install notes are there for a reason :p

I always follow the install notes. I just have odd ways of screwing things up. You wouldn't believe how much it actually screwed up the game the last install I did... I installed 5.0.0, selected that module through the Front-End, but never actually started it up to create the swap file. It fsked my game up more than you'd think that would... So, I followed the install notes...just forgot a small detail. I tend to forget a LOT of stuff. :p
