i actually used the low-poly option; as like cujo said; they're going to be rather miniscule...

using a 64x64 texture since it doesnt really need anything more.

did a whole bunch of options, as always including a silly vampire/alhoon texture :D

Would we want a seperate model with 6 tentacles for an ulitharid? or just use a different skin?

There'll be a vampire later in KotB if u want to get serious about that: in fact, Iaonnis has already done much of the dlg for the relevant character (not the vampire itself ;) )

Are the phase spiders now fully operational? Do i get that right? Not just the skins but the critter itself?
Spike was too modest to mention this was his own idea, and a damn good one. We need fire beetles for later in KotB but a few for the Insect Mound wouldn't go astray.

Sorry to just come by with requests ;) Damn u guys are doing great work!

Apart from the portrait (apparently we've run out of available slots) and the fact that the Blinking (closest thing I could think of to periodically becoming Ethereal - like phase spiders are supposed to) runs out after about 5 rounds, yeah. they don't seem tough enough to me, but their poison is a real killer. ;)

Ok, one fire beetle skin :)

    opinions?

its 128x128 pixels, and i've included two versions: one with a black alpha, one with an experimental alpha to see how it works :D

so yeah :p tell me what you think.

Looks like I'm going to have to revisit the summoning spells as there's new stuff to add. (IIRC one of the spells can summon fire beetles).

[slightly OT] Is it true that we've run out of monster/NPC portrait slots? and is there a similar limit on PC slots as well?

Short answer: Yes. However someone pointed that
we can simply reduce the varieties of bugbear and
other shit portraits to one in order to gain new slots.
Hmmm I wonder if fiddling with the dll could give us
    new slots...

It is true for both. I never removed the portraits of the summoned monsters you disabled in your spells though, so those slots can be reused. For PCs, I already have more submitted custom portraits than there are room for. I have a solution for this in the works, but it is on hold while I work on KotB.

@ioanis76: That guard of yours needs more work I'm afraid. Keep trying.

This is fantastic news leksey!!! :D keep up the great work

@ioannis; if you're very keen on humanoid creatures; a good research point is human anatomy. It can help with the layout of geometry. With your new model, watch out to make sure that the overcoat tabardy thingy doesnt become too large; consider having it hug the form a bit more perhaps? with a belt maybe? :)

has an interesting tutorial that uses zbrush; but is relevant to any layout of musculature on a human model - it goes very high-res, but the principles can always be applied in texturing as well.

to model in more faces we could use the helmet/mask approach for the variety as in the drows. just a thought.
