Yeah, we've been through this before. I also use Mass Identify (when I bother) simply because later in the game you can be overloaded with potions etc, and sad to say, its not like any of them are going to be cursed (not yet, anyway... ^_^ ) and the poison ones stick out a mile. So its purely a convenience thing, not to have to relearn a spell or annoy a shopkeeper over and over and over - one blat and its all done - not a cheat in the sense of being a cheating cheater. But yes, as a rules-breaker it won't be getting rolled into anything official.

As I said, the Mass Identify spell was posted somewhere on this forum already. I wasn't trying to prevent anyone from finding and using it. I wasn't going to link to it or re-post it though. It still costs 100 gold to use it.

What I'm not going to do is post my version of Read Magic, the one I merged the Mass Identify code into. This is my personal choice, reflecting my personal feelings on the issue. If Ted or someone else wishes to duplicate my work and post it, that is their personally choice, and more power too them. But it will never get wrapped into a release.

And in posting Mass Identify, I wasn't trying to criticise your personal choice :p just trying to make it easy to find something that may otherwise require a lot of searching (I have no idea where it is nowdays and it took me ages to find it last time I went looking).

    Mmmm, decaf... :coffee:

    bugs:

-when you save while on npc turns on battle, when you load this save the npc will not do anything and the turn will not pass (sometimes if you press many keys of the keyboard the games go to the next turn)

    - saving the game in guard tower - main hall sometimes make the save and others saves that the player is in guard house corupted.

You should never save during battle. It always causes problems. It's also not something caused by the Co8 patches, but rather something that has always been in the game.

hi all. well ive been gone a week or two due to comp problems. now im back and i had to completely reinstall the whole thing. problem is that now nothing is working. i get the same error when i try to use front end or world builder and an error when trying the game by itself. i havnt been able to figure out why, my only guess is that ive missed a step in the current install proceedure. the error for the front end and world builder is this
-- Application Failed to Initialize Properly (0x0000135) ---

this is a screen shot of the error when i just try the game by itself

The Front End and WorldBulider error is because you do not have the .NET Framework installed.

The ToEE error sounds like the error I got frequently when I was using Norton Antivirus. It is a memory allocation error. ToEE is trying to grab some memory, and something else on your system is not letting it do so.

hmmm ok i didnt think about reinstalling the .net again ill track it down and download it again.

i dont have norton anymore, its what caused all my proplems and got my system so courrupted that i had to completely wipe it.

the co8 pataches and fixes are all included in the latest mod right? and we only need atari patch 1, there isnt anything else to add in is there?

You need Atari Patch 2. I personally do both Patch 1 and Patch 2. Some people have reported they need to do both, but most get by with just Patch 2.

    I've got a quick question...

I was happy to see the inclusion of the Halberd and the beatuiful skin for it (much better than the other polearms.) I am distressed, though, to see that, unlike the others, it does NOT have a reach of 10' like the others. I cannot comment on the Trident, as I have not used it. Is this intentional or accidental? If it's intentional, I'll "complain" no more and accept it.

A halberd is not a reach weapon. If it's not offering 10' of reach, then it's functioning properly according to the rules.

I FINALLY got to sit down and play ToEE for a change (and not just mod the damn thing). Found a couple little issues.

With Furnok, I had no chance to just 'play again' - turned out my character had a Spot of zero, so I don't mind that I couldn't get him cheating, but after he took my money, I got 2 "I don't want to play again" options, no replay option, and had to go a very circuitous route to replay, which was a pain (especially since i always lost).

Also, has someone been fiddling with the bandits in the moathouse? They seemd to all be level 2, with the result that a couple had more hitpoints than the raging leader (I have pix if necessary). What with said leader, and the 'fighting in doorway' problems, that fight was plenty tough enough for a lvl 1 party: was it boosted? Or were they always lvl 2? They certainly weren't in the module.

[Edit] Ok, I am now having the 'rogue can't level up and CTDs at feat selection' business. I was definitely using the latest dll and a co8 post 5.0.3. I did a complete reinstall of Co8 5.0.0, uped it to 5.0.3 and added the 16.0.2 .dll and started a new game, and it is still happening :(
