This may seem like a really stupid question, but I haven't figured out how to move someone to a precise spot. I'm in level 1 of the temple and I opened one of the rooms that was loaded with Gnolls, Ogres, Goblins, and I think a few others for good measure. I had my sorceress standing behind the door to launch a nice fireball. I wanted to put my rogue standing in the doorway so nobody could charge her. Whenever I moved him, he kept on opening and closing the door instead. On a related note is there a way to set waypoints for how you want someone to move during combat? The computer always seems to want me to run into attacks of opportunity when there may be a different way to go.
from memory shift-clicking sets waypoints; and double clicking starts the movement. The door problem i cant really help you with, try standing just before or after it maybe?
Keep an eye on your cursor, if it's showing the hand like it does when you open any other door then you don't have it over a valid movement destination... You can click on the location you want to move to to check if you will be open to attacks of opportunity. It will show the reach of enemy weapons in the form of a yellow circle. Just modify your movement outside those arcs...
When in combat mode, you can see where you will/can go and set waypoints by using the ALT key. Moving the mouse around whilst holding the ALT key shows possible spots to move to (and the path you will take) in green or yellow, depending on how much of your PC's actions it will take up. (You will also see attacks of opportunity and reach areas of enemies). Left clicking whilst doing this will set a way point from which you can continue to plan your movement. When you are finally ready to move, click the final spot and you will execute your finely choreographed movement As for doors, if you follow the above advice, you will be OK.
