eeeeeeeeehehehehehe, nice :p well that answers most of my question :p 256x256 seems adequate for a collossal creature :D

    Care to elaborate? :p

right now im just kind of experimenting, since we cant try animations yet - what creatures/things and so on need to be created in order to make QotS a reality? :p

is it already in the works at all?

I dont have a copy of the module myself :anger:

It's my favorite thing to say we need to do next. Not in the works, by any means, unless you count dreaming & talking about it.

Try RPG now for a copy of things you might be interested in. Not free, but cheap.

There is more dragons and a Lich in the works, and might even have a demo ready by the new year... maps are kind of sketchy still and would need to be elaborated on, but it is 5 completely new maps with a respawn rolled into it... I need to work on some dialogs and an npc to introduce the adventure... it will happen after prince trommel has been freed from the Temple.:largeclap

A word from someone who can not program... follow Teds tutorial and anyone will be able to create mods... it is not as hard or daunting as it might appear.

You sure you dont want to learn how to do them yourself? granted, its a learning curve, but well worth it if you like the whole 3d thing :D

because its just a head; you'd end up creating a new texture for the finished model anyway; so its really ideal to use as a learning tool for yourself :p having said that; ill have a look at it :D

unfortunately, because you've saved from max 7/8 i cant check the file (currently only running max 6; will probably be getting a newer version sometime soon...)

i actually dont really do any of my uv mapping in max; preferring to work in zbrush or maya; but the tools you are looking to explore are the uvw map modifier; and the unwrap UV.

Some automated tools for helping set up uvs are:

    www.uvlayout.com

    www.unwrap3d.com

both have beta/demo versions you can trial etc.

Once you have a decent Uv map; you can use photoshop or a similar editing program to paint the 2d map.

Programs such as zbrush allow you to paint directly onto the 3d model, too :D

initial drider texture is done... symmetry is still off, needs more definition between the muscles on the torso for starters... theres a few funky little artifacts in it too :(

    Too lacking in colour?

Not bad for a first go ioannis :), have you used a single image file for the texture? or multiple different 'materials' that you created using max's material editor?

I'm not exactly sure how they translate into toee...

What method of creating uvs did you use?
