Hi I'm new here but I've been installing co8 mods for quite some time. After installing the version 5.0 final of co8 I noticed some new weapons that didn't have a weapon focus feat to support them. Are they just remodels of existing weapons (So they would benefit from the same feats) or are they not correctly implemented yet?
Firstly, you should update to Co8 5.0.3. Also, AFAIK the only weapon that does not have weapon focus enabled in Co8 is Orc Double Axe since there is only one in the game that can be obtained. I was working on the weapon to be added, but without a new mesh there's no point in enabling it. (Oh, and Cuch, this is not a pun. Seriously. ) Oh and one more thing, if you update, you might have to start a new game.
So if I update they'll be weapon focus feats for tantos, wakazishi(dunno if I spelt that right), mauls etc? I'm currently on Co8 5.0.2.
Not sure about the warhammer=maul one, I'll give it a try. There should be an ingame hint or some documentation about this. A full list of all weapons not included in the weapon focus list and which weapon they relate to would be useful. Great mod by the way. I can play neverwinter nights 2 and I'm playing this  !

Well its by the rules - if u can see one that needs it, we can put it in, but only if its in the rules - the engine (not surprisingly) won't support it otherwise.
Rules-wise, warhammers, mauls and greathammers should all use different proficiencies, just as longswords, bastard swords and greatswords do. A katana is simply a masterwork bastard sword (per the rules) while a wakizashi is a masterwork short sword (that does slashing damage instead of piercing) and tanto is a dagger. Likewise a no dachi is a great sword. Most of the rest aren't real weapons and are up to the weapon's creator to find the closest in-game equivalent.
The feats that the engine supports (that are directly relative to the issue of blunt-smacking-things feats) are: Light Mace Heavy Mace Club Greatclub Light Hammer Warhammer (Edit: o and gnome hooked hammer). and thats it. No maul, no greathammer. We do have light lances, nets, punching daggers and various other things that aren't going to be in the game any time soon, but no, nothing for these ones already there  Edit: I may have missed a few but the point is, no maul, no greathammer.
Why not make a proficiency for those weapons from the existing ones? I mean in protos they would be "net" for example but you can change the text in feats.mes so that it would say "great hammer".
What's the whole point of blunt weapons? They're heavier and they do less damage to their slashing counterparts? Anyone?
