Are Grank and his bandits part of the original game?

    Water (ice) node.

    SPOILER... (obviously, I would think...)

I just love Grank's paraphrase of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "Rime of the Ancient Mariner".

    Grank

"Then shall I pass like night from node to node,
and should I keep my power of speech,
search out for anyone to hear me,
and to him my tale I teach."

    Mariner

"I pass, like night, from land to land
I have strange power of speech
That moment that his face I see,
I know the man that must hear me
To him my tale I teach."

This is an awesome touch. It ALMOST makes me forget that those badass bandits had no loot on them...

I suppose Troika added in that poetic nonsense...because they aren't mariners at all. They were bandits on a raid to the 4th level of the Temple; their leader ordered them into the nodes upon the approach of the ettin guards, and they've been fighting for survival ever since. Their leader was killed in the nodes, and Grank took over since he wields the power of life & death for them as their cleric. Guess he couldn't (or maybe wouldn't...?) help the leader.
