Anybody know what's going on with that? Every two or three days, there's a new post by some random bot username posting something about a porn video. I thought that forums like this had certain failsafes to stop this kind of thing from happening?

The struggle never ends. The last solution slowed them down a good bit, but it seems they've adapted. Sol will find another.

Sol mentioned to me that turning on email verification would put an end to the spam-bots, but has some problems as well. Apparently, when it was turned on before, not every newly registering member was getting the verification email.

Don't open any post that doesn't have a TOEE type title. The last one I saw said something like "Wow, I can't believe this video" or somehing like that. Don't open them, and let the moderators kill them so that the spammer is just wasting his time.

Trouble is, they are automated. They do nothing but seek out & register on BBs to infect them. The "spammer" isn't wasting time, because it's really a program running on computers in cyberspace.

Now, if we could only get our hands on those responsible...:dead:
