I have recently bought TOEE and have installed the Co8 v5 patch.

Having spent some time with the game I'm wondering whether or not I should add the cummulative 5.0.2 patch. Will this affect my previously saved games and will I have to start again?

Also, how do I install it. I think I still have ToEEFE installed (despite having uninstalled it previously)

Any guidance would be most welcome

    Cheers

Yep, it'll corrupt your old saves. Just out of curiousity, why don't you use front end?

The information about this, and the installation instructions are all it the post you download 5.0.1 and 5.0.2, which you can find here. I'm not going to repeat them in this thread.

    Thanks for the info.

How do you "unpack" a rar file? I'm not familiar with that type of file.

    Cheers

Do a search at Google or somewhere for WinRar. Rars are a newer, better type of file compression than zips. (Well, most of the time they are better.)

Or you can just go to www.download.com to get it. It's far easier than using google.

I see there is a new version of Cumulative Patch 5.0.2 The latest is of November 7. Now I'm playing with 5.0.2 as of October 8. Will my saves be corrupted if I upgrade the Cumulative fixes? BTW, what is added since October 8? Those named small patches, listed in the thread or is there something else? Or may be there are not all the listed patches included?
So is it recommended to upgrade while remaining safe for continuation of my current game?

As long as you already have 5.0.2 installed, then upgrading with more 5.0.2 materials will not corrupt your game. Feel free to upgrade with everything you can find. I highly reccomend it. Download the November 7 mod, and then grab all of the fixes added to the Cumulative Mods and Fixes Submissions Thread. About 7/8 of the way down page 2 are the new ones since 11-07.

As for what was added in the last month+, it's far more than I could list here. LOTS of good fixes.

    Thanks.

PS I just wish sometime there be a wasterwork sling available in Hommlet since it seems the only weapon forgotten... But it is the best ranged weapon for a strong cleric or druid.

I would like to see all Masterworks Items for sale in Hommlet. I had to Console my MW Sling in. ( Give 4182 ) I made mine into a +3 Flame, Icy, Shock. ( I do that to all my Weapons. LOL. )

There is a masterwork sling available in Verbobonc.

Also, keep in mind that not every item a merchant sells may be in his or hers inventory at any given time.

Yes there is one in Verbonc, if you free the correct Prisioner. Also, I still can't leave Verbonc. That makes 2 times going there, ( with different prisioners) and 2 times getting trapped. So I had to Console one in. ( I don't know if Bing has one, as I didn't do that Quest, so he is still dumb in my game.)

No, I didn't find any masterwork sling with Bing. Well, perhaps I was unfortunate to miss it, I'll try to visit him and reload until I find the proof.

BTW... What is Verbobonc??? As a L/G party I met a raided caravan at the beginning... and had a talk with a man fron Verbobonc. But I have never been in Verbobonc...

I'm in Nulb now after completing all of Hommlet quests.
