The thread is moved to the Temple of Elemental Evil forum since it belongs here. Well, if you mean the 5.0.0 Mod Pack, you may also want to check out the 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 updates released over at the General Modification - those packages include the latest fixes made after the 5.0.0 release. If you're about to start a new game, consider getting 5.0.2. Otherwise, if you have a game in progress and don't want to start a new one, consider getting 5.0.1 (since if you install 5.0.2, your old saved games won't be compatible anymore). - Agetian
Sorry about posting in the wrong spot! Looks like I did download 5.0.0. I will also get the other 2 (do I need both or just 5.0.2?) I actually don't even have game installed. I had some computer issues recently so I've only put a few things back in since. It's such a shame the game was so short.
5.0.2 is a stand alone update and doesn't require 5.0.1 Just make sure you install ToEE and atari patches 1 & 2 before installing 5.0.0 and 5.0.2 to insure your install is as stable as it can be.
OK, I installed the game, put the Atari patch in, then installed 5.0.0 and and 5.0.2. I started the game and the cursor wouldn't move; ie the game crashed. Not the way I wanted to restart the game. I would welcome any suggestions. I tried running it again, but like always, my cursor is doing horrible things. It's very hard to control. I figured some patch should have fixed this. I guess it was too much to hope for. The mouse is new as of today (microsoft) with the lastest driver.
Well, first of all, try installing bare ToEE with patches 1 and 2 installed (don't install patch 3, you don't need it at all if you (plan) to use Co8 mods), then see if the same thing happens to you. If it does, it may be a problem with some of your drivers conflicting with ToEE, although personally I've never heard of a mouse driver freaking out in ToEE (but then again, that's just me). If the same thing doesn't happen to you with the bare installation of ToEE patched up to patchlevel 2, then it's probably an incorrect installation of the Co8 mod and/or the 5.0.2 patch. If that is the case, please report in detail as to how you installed (e.g. what files you got, what steps have you taken to install, especially the 5.0.2 (where you unpacked the thing and so on), etc.). This will make it simpler for us to guess where exactly you might have been mistaken. One thing is certain - it's not the Co8 mod itself since many people, me included, have tried out both 5.0.0 and the 5.0.2 patch and used it without any problems. - Agetian
