Moathouse; Bearbug kills my full health cleric with one hit.

    Kills with one hit again.

    "Hey that wasn't a critical."

This Bearbear has 42 strength. :questionm

The Bugbear was fatigued, I was previously in a battle with this group and choose to flee combat. I went back down the stairs without resting. Guess this is what triggered the bug, I've previously passed this battle without this problem using my current game version.

Me and Ted have both experienced this bug before... Had you cast entangle on the bugbears in your encounter? I suspect it's the elexir of breakfree that is not working properly, The elexir grants a binus to strength to make entangled creatures breakfree if they're stuck, then entangles them again, and (at this point it's supposed to remove the strength bonus, but for entangle it doesn't) allow another breakfree attempt with the regular strength score. Because the breakfree for entangle isn't working properly (a fix is in the works for this issue) the bonus to the strength isn't being reduced.

    Yes entangle was cast.

    What is an "elexir"?

Does this mean I should avoid entangle?:sadblinky

well as it is currently, enemies cant break free, so it is a bit of a cheat.

an elexir (it's actually spelt elixir) is like a potion (I spelt it incorrecly on purpose as that is the spelling Liv used when she wrote the script), but this one is only for NPC use, and cannot be looted. It was created so enemies can break free from web (which works) and entangle (which doesn't - yet) to stop players from expoiting the bugs these spells have.

Hah, I was wondering why web was so much worse than entangle...

Good Lord! I've mostly played with a druid up till now, because I found that entangle was virtually impossible for enemy NPCs to counter. No wonder I had such easy combats, every time I cast entangle. I had no idea it was a bug till now.

A new Temple.dll release (posted yesterday) by spellslinger fixed the entangle bug, (be warned read the first 2 posts, and the whereto.txt file carefully to insure you install properly.

    It can be found here.

I'm not sure if this is a known issue, but the above bug with entangle super strength mobs is still there apparently with the latest Co8 mod. I've gotten several smackdowns by bugbears that had +40 bonus to STR dmg in the past couple days alone after casting entangle...

    *bump*

Is there no way to fix the elixirs of breakfree to not cause the super strength bug? Yes, I am running the latest version of the co8 suite.

I don't see where it has changed lately...

The elixir wasn't actually meant to fix Entangle, it was meant to fix Web. So maybe we have to scrap it altogether.

Did Spellslinger's .dll fix not fix the problem? Maybe Ithildur is running 5.0.0 w/o the CMF that would include the fix? I don't normally use a druid, but I am curious now. Has anyone else who uses druids seen this lately?

I use druids sometimes and haven't ever noticed it. I'm using 5.0.4.

CMF stands for "Cumulative fixes" which are patches for the 5.0.0
version. You'll find them in the Cumulative fixes submissions thread
    in general modification.

Ok, found and downloading the 5.0.4 patch... rather obscure since it's not listed in the above collection of download threads afaik... so hopefully this will fix the issue, but what is the CFM, I'm still puzzling over that one?

thanks for all the great work to the Co8 team btw; you truly made this game playble and enjoyable and brought it to life - I am quite certain I would've lost interest out of frustration a few days into the game if it weren't for your work.
