[IMPORTANT] A campaign to get the official tools released

Its not dead yet but we need more people to vote on the stickied thread about trying to petition Atari to release the game engine and codes to the Co8. That is what the plan is at this time. Never give up hope. You also have to figure that the public is slowly learning about Co8 and soon Atari will have to sit back and consider many things. Especially without their game engine and codes Co8 has already removed a variety of bugs and have also increased the game play of this game. And the most important thing, the saleability of ToEE. I am sure that since there are a lot of people that read magazines out there have heard of Co8 and the mods for ToEE that the sales have taken off for Atari. I think that if we ALL banded together we could do this. Not only for us lowly little wanna be hackers as myself, but these guys that know and are willing to spend the time to make this game what it is. We just might win one for our side, the modders and the mod makers.



Final thought on this .... The worst they could say is no, but if you dont try you never know.

But seriously only 208 votes with over 6263 looks that aint right, if you want to use the mods I say you should atleast try to make it where they can improve the game more. There is no harm in spending less than 15 seconds out of your life to help those that willingly help you with mods. I am proud to say that I have voted and my vote was without a doubt a great big YES, so come on and spend the time to help these guys out.

Of course.

However getting people to petition on this site will only yield very limited voting - short end of the pole.

At least getting a link - and even better, a banner - at Sorcerer's Place, for instance, would be a major first step...

 

Hmm if this actually works you guys'll be
able to create remakes of such classics
as Baldur's Gate saga, or even Eye of
the Beholder (not too keen on that one
tho, mainly hack and slash, BG had a
little more of roleplaying )

Ted when you finish KotB, maybe you could
start working on Baldur's Gate Remake?
As I understand you are able to make
new maps, create paths on the worldmap,
implement some 3d meshes without animations
though, am I right?
