Just purchased this game after reading all the positive forums on Co8s work with it .. got patch 2 .. and extracted to ToEE file and the Co8 patch and extracted to ToEE file .. how do i know if this worked .. i dont see a version # anywhere to reference... it didnt ask me to answer yes to all . when extracted either .. but the files did go into ToEE .. so how do i know if i have the patches working?
if it was patched correctly using patch 1 and then patch 2, then your readme should say 1.0 while there should be a file called temple.dll in your ToEE directory. if it's not there, then patch 2 didn't go in correctly.
As for the Co8 mod, if you start Front End, you should see Temple of Elemental Evil and Co8 5.0.0 in the modules window. When you start the Co8 mod with Front End (or you start the game if you are not using Front End) you should see Co8 5.0.0 on the main menu screen just below where it says Temple of Elemental Evil. This is all, of course, assuming the Co8 files you mentioned are Co8 5.0.0.
