Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

Thats happened to me: hate that.

I got 'carrion crawler brain juice' poisoned by some crystal oozes (forgot I put them there - oops. Great fight though since they are DR 10 and i ran into them with almost no spells) Anyway I got a bug for the effect, and no attribute damage: see pic below. I think this has been reported before but if so, it hasn't been fixed.

Using post Hickory-Branch-Final Cumulative fixes, dll mk 10 and Hazelnut's initial monk belt patch.

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

    I found some more "bugs".

    • Good Hope shouldn't be on the sorcerer/wizard spell list, it's exclusive to bards.
    • If you enchant the Adamantine Breastplate (you probably know where to get it, I don't want to spoil the fun for people who don't ;)) through the use of Craft Magic Arms & Armor, the game crashes on the first time you enter/exit a building.
    • Read Magic falsely identifies potions. Actually, this is one of the most wonderful bugs I've encountered in this game ever, since it is very, very tiresome (and expensive) to have all your potions identified in shops. I already thought about introducing a 0th-level "Determine Potion" spell in my real-life campaign, since it makes things so much easier.
    • Summon Monster IV didn't let me summon a celestial lion

Oh, and I got a new record on healing. My 6th-level cleric of Pelor (with the Healing domain) used Cure Moderate Wounds for 1 HP. MIN[2d8+7]=9. That's 8 under the minimum... :eek:mg:

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

This can be fixed easily enough, but does any one know if this will adversely affect any wiz/sor pc's out there that already know this spell?

Personally I hope that this *doesn't* get fixed! ;)

This is because there are no lion critters in the game. A lion model would need creating, unless you were happy with a lion that looks like something else... a lion in sheeps clothing maybe...

Maybe you could give the circumstances (who was being healed etc) and a screenshot of the calculation breakdown for any other low heals you get.

I doubt it. It shouldn't be rechecked after it is added to the known spells list. But then, this one is easily testable.

The Read Magic for potions is a bit of a cheat yes, but since u can always sidestep the 100gp-for-Identify annoyance by the time-honoured method of getting Nodwick to... errr, I mean, by taking a sip, this was a workaround. Just makes the game more playable. There is also a Mass Identify spell doing the rounds for anyone who couldn't b bothered individually doing it (though that won't be in a Co8 mod). Anyone who doesn't like using Read Magic, just don't use it and play by the rules, thats cool :) But its deliberate, not a bug.

And there are, alas, no cat models, big or small, anywhere in the game. No horses neither :(

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

The Read Magic "cheat" is cool in my book, I just couldn't help but notice it ;)

I found another bug though. I scored a critical hit today with the second of two rays of Scorching Ray. Instead of double damage (4d6 x 2 = 8d6) it only did 2d6 damage. That's quite a curious (and might I add sucky) crit...

If I get a low healing again I will try to remember to make a screen shot ;)

I'll update Good Hope in my next spell patch, and I'll take a look at the Scorching Ray code.

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

I remember when it was added. Since there's no way to use the Spellcraft skill to ID potions (like you can in standard pnp), Read Magic was added as a simple alternative. It's not standard, but it's a good alternative.

I can verify this one; it's on my list of bugs that I've discovered and been meaning to report. :) It appears that Scorching Ray does half damage on a crit instead of double. (doh!)

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

    Cool!

No Cure spells that seemed out of whack today. The game doesn't show how the amount of healing was calculated anyway, so I can't figure out what was wrong there yesterday. Who knows, maybe the game hates tuesdays...

The mods seem to play out fine so far. Some very cool features, and I'm really enjoying the extra's

    Edit: I found additional bugs.

    • One of my Prismatic Ray rays had a save DC of 200. Don't know which one though. I had to reload the game, if I can get a screenshot I will.
    • Heroes' Feast somehow skips a lot of its targets. With 5 targets only the first and the last received the spell, and with less targets only the first target feasted.
    • Both Heroes' Feast (gives immunity to fear) and Remove Fear (surpresses fear condition for 1 minute on the targets) didn't work against the Balor in the fire node. Very frustrating, since the fight is already bloody hard even when your party isn't running away...
    • Align Weapon is not on the Cleric's spell list, it should be Clr 2. I don't know if this is intentional, but I thought I saw it before. Anyway, in certain fights one would really like to align its archer's bow.

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

Ok, this is quite a serious bug. After I defeated the "end boss" of the fire node, I couldn't pick up the item he dropped and doors don't work anymore. Basically, I'm screwed. I teleported to Homlet before combat to rest and rebuff, and then returned to the fire node. Maybe that's the problem?

In the meantime I'll start a new party

That could be a corrupted game save. Try using a previous save and attempt the fire node over again [from before when you had never been there yet].

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

The Prismatic Ray save may be a result of some of the rays having saves and some not; I'll take a look at that code.
Heroes' Feast skipping targets is a known issue, as listed in the notes for the additional spells. I'm still looking into why it does this.
My guess on the Balor is that it's something about the Balor's specific fear aura that is causing problems. I'm trying to see if there's a better way to implement immunity to fear that might get around it.
I will see if the engine supports the Align Weapon spell and if so try to get it working for clerics.

    Jesse.
