Modding Unidentified items?

    Ok, so i turned the Holy Longsword +1(+3 really) into a correct Holy Bastardsword +1

    Now the sword: Radiant Longsword +1 correct uses 1d10 for damage, but still gives a +3 enhancement bonus

    now AFTER I identify the weapon it becomes Holy Longsword +1 (name doesn't change to what i put in the protos) and then there is NO enhancement bonus

    do items have different protos entries for when they are not yet identified?

    Can anyone else varify/clarify this?

    naming system

    'eys man,

    was modding items when i found this out

    Protos. Tab does not control the naming scheme
    : )

    the names are found in description.mes which lists out the item ids and the names

    changing the name in the .mes file automatically alters the protos tab nameing scheme

    You need to restart the game to see the changes such as that. Your *bastard* sword was loaded and written into the save file already. So no matter what you do in the proto.tab, it'll remain +3 longsword.
