Ok, I downloaded and installed the co8 file, installing patch 1 and 2 beforehand as directed. My problem is with gameplay. Specifically with spells such as Magical Missile. For some odd reason when I attempt to use them they list as 4/-513, etc. in the pie menu and crash the game. I'm sure there is a fix somewhere on the forum for it, but after nearly an hour of trying to find it I'm frazzled in my search.

So yep, I'm hoping for a detailed explanation of what I have to do to correct this problem and perhaps a list of anything else I may end up having to do in the long run anyway so I can do it all now rather than finding out later :p

I'm not the fastest at figuring things out, thus the detailed list request so that I don't screw anything up in the process :p I adore this game and would love to be able to play it properly ;)

Will check back on this later and I appreciate any help I can get as without this mod pack I can't even open the game on this comp:(

Are you using the Front End? If so, did you select the Co8 Module before starting the game?

I am not sure that I entirely understand your "list as 4/-513" comment. There was a thread about an old bug allowing 511 magic missiles, or something like that. Maybe that is what you meant and should search for here on this web site. Some more detail of the problem might be helpful, too.

That old bug has long since been squashed. My recollection of it's recurring cause was an improperly installed update. Something may be in the wrong folder in your install.

:/ I don't know how something would end up in the wrong folder, but ok. I installed the current mod pack c08 v5.0.0 final, and of course the patches 1 and 2 from atari itself beforehand. That is all that was done and I followed the instructions for installion of the mod patch to the letter and have even uninstalled and reinstalled the game and all once :/

note though that I have noticed this is only happening while attempting to use frontend as I can play to normal game without running front end and everything is fine from what I can see. So perhaps it's just a front end error, which I guess I can live with anyway since I can go without using the front end options.

Just noticed Kalshane's note, and I know it was while using Front End, but will double check that I accessed the game correctly in a few minutes so I can clarify as to how I did it.
