I realize everyone has their own opinion....

but, if you were to pick the one item you thought the most powerfull, what would it be and why....

    Mine...
    Periapt of wound closure...
character continues to take non-leathal damage but does not die in combath thereby preventing xp point loss during raisedead/resurrection....

    The Hand of Vecna...

But then again, you probably don't mean "artifact" but actually mean "magic item". There are no true artifacts in the game other than the Orb of Golden Death.

As for the most powerful magic item, it would have to be Prince Thromel's sword and his gift sword (Scather & Fragarach). Those two are by far more powerful (and unbalancing) of any magic item in the game.

In this game my vote for the best magical weapon (not includind scat & frag),
is the frost brand +3 greatsword. :goth:

As far as original weapons to the game, Everyone can easily fashion truly nasty weapons of choice.

We talking magic items or artifacts & relics? I thought you meant the former, but people are answering with everything (including the latter), so my take is as follows:

For the computer (this) game: The Orb of Golden Death.
For the PnP module: The Mirror of Mental Prowess.
For AD&D: The Teeth of Dahlver-Nar.

How many characters did you have that had a complete set of teeth from Dalhver Nar? I had a character that had 10 teeth from an evil ruler, and that was it. Never a complete set. Don't ask how far I had to go to get it either.

None. In fact, I don't remember ever utilizing any of them in any of my campaigns. I thought about it on more than one occasion, and became familiar with how powerful their potential was. Thus, my selection of them for this post. An assembled set of the Regalia of Might was in my mind as well, but they are more likely to attract too much negative attention for the possessor, regardless of the set's ethos.

the rod of seven parts, complete. no questions asked, except by the wielder of the wand of orcus. Any artifact properly, and mindfully, used.

It never had a name before I named it the Sword of Cahoem altho it did exist in fiction. it's actually less powerful in toee than it is in the story as there's pretty much nothing it can't kill in the story.

Damn, I missed out on that one. I'll look for it, though. Who is the author?
The sword of truth series is quite good also. It starts slow I think, but picks up quickly. Have you read it?

I'd ask you to tell us a story, but like many folk tales I've proly heard by another name or just forgot what name it went by. After the the first para I'd be begging you to stop because I heard it a dozen times already.
