OK, so I was looking for the rainbow rock in the fields and thouhgt I would chance a quick campout. I got jumped by two trolls. I had no produce flame spells, so all my damage was nonlethal. I knowcked them both out and was able to head back to town. I healed up and came back to the fields thinking the encounter was over. Wrong. I appeared right back where I was, only this time, when I made it through one round of combat, the time meter stayed gray and it wouldn't cycle back through the characters. I could scroll around the screen, highlight characters (but not click), and pull up the help screen, but ESC and the options/map menu didn't work. I had to three-finger salute out of the game. No matter what time I leave Hommlet I show up in the fields at night with the trolls right where I left them. Using the Circle 4.0 mod Anyone encounter this? Relp Raggy? Update: I've tried the following workarounds to no avail: *saving and loading during the troll fight *getting into another encounter on the way to the meadows *leaving at different times--even if I arrive at the meadows at noon on the little time bar, the screen is bright for a split second, then goes to nighttime. One thing I have noticed is that the trolls attack very slowly, sometimes several seconds between attacks.
I've never seen this particular problem before, but I know if you don't kill sleep encounter trolls they will stay right where you left them and heal while you are gone. Btw, you don't need flame to kill trolls in this game. Just knock them unconscious and then Coup de Grace them. My advice would be to kill them and see if things improve from there.
the problem is, that I only get one round of attacks in, then the game mechanics seem to lock up, while I can still scroll around and load/save, etc.
Okay. Here is what you do. Unzip this file into your scr folder in the root directory. As soon as you get to the meadow, open the console and type this: Code: from kill import * killkillkill() That should take care of the trolls. Post as soon as you've downloaded this. I'm going to remove it as soon as you do.
That would be shift+tilde (~) to open the console. Press them both at the same time. Let us know how things turn out.
Sorry for not being more clear about this. I have a bad habit of making assumptions about what do/do not know.
