we need a skin color modification. faerun is entirely populated with crackers in this game. besides, half orcs should be able to have a lil more green in 'em. just sayin.

Sorry without the source code it is not possible to change the meshes for skin colors. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

The setting is a fantasy version of medievil Europe, home and place of origin of the crackers. How many black folk do you think there were in 12th century France or England?

Some campaigns take place in settings simulating other locations, i.e. Oriental Adventures. Perhaps you should look for one that takes place on another continent.

Ruf's editorial on modification notwithstanding, all of that BS has nothing to do with any of it. This is Oerth; the Eastern portion of the continent of Oerik; in the land of Flanaess. There are people here are of many colors dependant upon their ancestry & origin. Half orc player characters are indistinguisable from humans, and aren't green at all. Can't we even leave "soul" & "crackers" out of this fantasy realm? Besides, it can't be changed without trashing another species of being. So; shall we give up dwarves or elves for humans of a different pigmentation...?

    Just askin'.

(And you needn't respond - it's called rhetoric.)

Racial slurs are not looked upon favorably on this board, grzgrzlb. Consider yourself warned.

what the hell is a cracker - appart from something you have with wine and cheese. and if you want green half orcs you can spend about 8hrs going through every piece of halforc clothing and changing the skin colour

And, that's eight hours if you know exactly what you are doing before you start meaning eight hours of trials and testing, not eight hours to figure out how it all works and also make new meshes for clothes, armor, and whatnot for giving an appearance of different skin tone.

    I agree with Spike.

sorry 'bout the "c word", warning duely noted. no offense itended. really tho, i was just commenting in order to see if in fact it was possible, which, i found, it isnt. it was just something i was slightly disturbed by, and thought this would be the best (perhaps only?) place to bring it up. i was after a straight response, and got it. not trynna start e-beef.

btw the mod is awesome, ive had no technical problems at all with it. this new mod really makes you re-evaluate the situation before entering into a random encounter on the road. nice job!

Many actually, they're called moors. They conquered and occupied Spain and other parts of Europe, and travelled as much as anyone else.

I know what a Moor is, and yes, there were a lot of them in southern Spain. THey were not black though, they were north African muslims. To meet the requires of this thread's originator, and have "soul", you'd need sub-saharan Africans, of which there would have been almost none in western Europe.

D&D is heavily drawn from Tolkien, Middle Earth is fantasy Europe, therefore no "soul" folk. Sorry.

I thought we were gonna leave this crap alone...?

There are all sorts of black humans in D&D. This is a fantasy realm, where there is no prejudice; only what we bring with us. BTW, "moor" IS what people from medieval Europe called blacks. Get your facts straight. In the meantime, here's a pic for you from old school AD&D. A dude lookin' like a Black Paladin is about to whoop ass. And before any dumbass says anything about that, consider that St. Maurice, widely regarded as the first Christian Knight, was a "moor" from Egypt who refused to sacrifice to pagan gods before battle. His legion was decimated; still, they remained faithful & another decimation was ordered, which was followed by a general slaughter. The Theban legion was destroyed, along with their leader, who became St. Maurice. http://www.ucc.ie/milmart/Maurice.html

Now can we PLEASE get a moderator to lock this thing up?

Not before I add that St Augustine may well have been black too, coming from Carthage - hard to say.

Also, 'Punic' is a corruption of 'Pheonician', so the Carthaginians could also be considered Semites. Freud as a child was a huge fan of Hannibal, because he was a Semite (albeit a Ba'al follower) who won great victories over those who marched under the Eagle (the Romans, but Freud saw parralels with anti-Semitic Austria of his own time).

Not that any of this is relevant :)

Nice pic. Here is one of Santiago Matamoros, the patron saint of Spain and one of my personal favorite people of all time.
