Is there anyway to change how NPC's are loot from the bodies? At least some sort of reduction of what they pick up? Otherwise, it just makes a lot of NPC's totally useless in the game. I remember way back that someone had identified a single variable that may have been related to NPC looting, has anyone tried to change it? Thanks, -The Grinman
yes its broken My biggest gripe with this game is NPC looting. As of now, Melanie picks up every damn thing she can. Because of this she is now encumbered. She will not sell, allow me to sell for her, and I cant equip her with any better equipment because of this. A plea to you programmers/hackers, if its possible I am sure the community would greatly appreciate if the looting system for NPC's could be removed, altered, fixed.
Would killing her help or forcing her to pick up anything useless so that she dosen't pick up anything else? I believe that was a suggestion on the atari forum. <a href="http://home.san.rr.com/cneal92/lawfulneutral.html"><img src="http://home.san.rr.com/cneal92/images/lawfulneutral.png"></a>
That's sorta pointless even then. Most of the NPC's end up selling their stuff when you talk to a merchant anyway. Really, all I want is to split the gold, and maybe gems, but not much else. It just becomes stupid that Melena, for instance, picks up a chain shirt that she can't use, and doesn't sell it, but weighs her down anyway. I know what the purpose was, but it was bad design decision. Either let them only lot gems and gold, or split the money on ANYTHING sold would have worked exponentially better then what they have now. -The Grinman
i liked how in Baldurs gate NPC just became part of the party. Does anybody know if the game tracks how much experience you have earned the group? if it does then i would suggest that while an NPC is in the group that they give all their gold to the party moeny pool and then when you give them the boot, they take percentage of what gold you have, according to how much XP they have brought in relative to everyone else. That sound good?
