IIRC, you should be able to get just about anything you could from the shopmap merchants (well, armor-wise, anyways) from the merchants in Nulb.

That's the one part of the hack for NPCs I don't like. But the only alternatives are Livonya's dialogue fixes or the original games rundoring "NPCs loot everything". So it's one of those things which has to be left to the individual player's discretion to use/abuse.

Yeah, poor Elmo....and that sage guy...then there was Zert and that half-assed thief chump. Rufus and Burne are on the 'soon to be exploited' list. That and it seems that my guys are hitting harder and more frequent.

Yes, Cerulean the Blue changed the RNG to always roll maximum for PCs and minimum for anything they fight. We call this the "Twister with Rundor". (joke)

Hitting harder, and more frequently, is probably because you've stolen some nice equipment from your NPC party members.

I'd really like to see some traps placed for this kind of thing. Like Otis wondering why you are wielding Elmo's axe and deciding to get it back.. that kind of thing ;)

Too bad you can't rip off Otis. He gets rather pissed about that sort of thing. :evil_laug

I'd like to see the Viscount sending someone to find out who killed off his agents, and bringing them to justice; or kill them trying. We have assassins to avenge evil guys; why not the reverse?

very good point. Who'd want to work for, or follow, the Viscount if he can't or won't protect his own?

The reverse? Evil guys to avenge assassins? Liv already added them in Nulb, didn't she? ;)
