I can agree with that logic actually deleting them no matter how lame, probably is not for the best. As lameness is in the eye of the beholder, and you do sort of get tainted, by playing through the game several times.

I would throw this idea out there in response though. It would not be that difficult to put switches on the quests, and have them be selectable, according to player preference. You click the switch on them either through the console, most people that have played through several times can use that fairly well, or from the front end.

This idea would be easy to do going forward, new quests could just have the feature built-in, going back and renovating the old quest, would have to be evaluated if we choose to go down this road. It would also open up some other previously unexplored areas, like quest options, you could in theroy have a quest with the same name and general properties and outcome with quite different actions to complete that quest. Without changing a bunch of dialog or other game elements. But look at it this way if you have thirty quest total and three options each, it would take you a while to play through all the variants of the game that would be possible.

I only bring this up as alternative way to add new content to the game without building so much experience into it, that your characters hit level 20 before they hit the temple, and to try and make it more enjoyable for those of use that have played through multiple times.

In combination with some of the other ideas out there to add more randomness and variety, and new modules KotB, the next new module after that and... the new game feel of ToEE may never have to end.

Edit - Holy crap when did I become a Hill Giant?

You're not wearing anything you stole from Kella, are you? IMO, it's high time you got rid of that moniker for one of your own fancy. All the truly fashionable people here have already done so...

sugestion - the name of the ogre cave now seems alittle strange, there being orcs there the first time you find it with the prespawn - I think its name should be changed to something like cavan entrance (chuck in a secret door and you've got a whole new underground adventure) or raiders cave or something like that

To be honest I think the pre-spawn of the ogre cave should come from a rumor from someone in town as to there is a local cave but it has never been explored kinda like what some of the henchmen give you to tell you the location of the moat-house but do not give you a quest to go there.

So in short it will give you the location of the cave but never request you go there. so if you neglect the cave and go though the temple and do the quest for the ogres then orcs get over written and then lost to you.

While the rumor aspect would be a nice touch, the downside is that quests in ToEE are not from rumors. Having said that, a rumor could very well be used to lead someone to a NPC who could give the offer of a quest.

It could go something like this. (The party talks with Lila Renton [Elmo's mom and is in a ****].) The party hears a rumor about some orcs running rampant and are residing in a cave somewhere near Hommlet and, maybe, someone in town who is in a position of authority could possibly know where the cave might be located. Then, the party goes and talks with ***** who says, I don't know about orcs like what you referred to, but if there are orcs in a cave near Hommlet, the cave would probably be at this location - whereupon he offers the party [a quest and if the party accepts the quest] to go check the cave and clear it if any orcs can be found [and, thus, he marks it on the party's map].

I liked the quest very much! Very nice and diverse orc group. With a little luck I managed to do it with 5 characters at level 2.
I am just not sure, if so low level party should get access to armour +8 and light +7, which are to be obtained there.
