Cleric takes Sanctuary as domain spell. Cleric gets in combat with bugbears and needs to heal party member. Cleric casts Sanctuary and then casts CLW on party member. Cleric gets smacked upside the head by bugbear. . . . In short, Sanctuary doesn't seem to work AT ALL. Is it just me?
That sucks. It might be a bug. Are you using any patches or mods? I'm no expert, so my advice is search "common issues and solutions" thread, or wait for a modder to reply here.
Running the Co8 4.0.0 mod with the Atari patch #2. Maybe casting Cure Light on a party member counts as a "combat action"? Didn't think it would, bu you never know.
Sanctuary is not a spell that just works. Any creature that wants to attack the spell's recipeint must attempt a Will save to be able to attack the character. It sounds like the bugbear made his save and whacked your cleric. As in the PnP game sanctuary is really only useful to save a character with low hp from being attacked. I could be wrong. Did the cleric's use of a cure spell cancel the sanctuary or did the bugbear just roll well on his will save.
Well, THAT'S annoying. I had the impression (false, evidently) that Sanctuary kept the recepient from being attacked at all. Mr. Bugbear must have made his Will save, the schmuck, as the spell was still active when the cleric got hit. What I should probably try is casting it again in a similar situation then open up the "game details" dialouge and see what the actual numbers were.
Jeez louise, I swear the Temple got a special deal on bugbears or something. "Hire one, get two free! Buy now and get an Ogre Upgrade for only 100 GP more!" The sorceror's Web and Fireball spells are proving VERY useful, though... :flamed: :tombstone
they sure did, and these are the bugbears that got thrown out of normal bugbear society for being to violent so they had to spend years on the badlands living off the still warm carcasses of Centaurs (why do you think there are none in ToEE) untill hedrack offered them all jobs
O please. they are in a temple: ergo, they are the equivalent of bugbear Shaolin monks. They are very good at tripping people, beating the hell out of them, and being philosphical.
Yes, oh Krunchy one, I do. The meat may be tough, but it's filling and very nourishing.:chew: :dribble:
