    Hi,

Please, before insulting me on the name of the topic, please read this.

I discoverd Temple of Elemental Evil a month ago, and I have to say that it is one of the best games I ever played. I love the turn based fights and the D&D rules.
But, I don't have the legal game. The problem is, that the game is not for sale here anywhere in shops, I have looked and asked everywhere. But once I was in our local libary I saw they rented the game and I hired it, and made my own copy of it. But you know the story, it requires a crack.

I'd like to play the co8 mod too, but if I install it it asks for a cd, which I don't have...
So, my question is, is there a crack for it? Please don't get angry at me for owning an illegal version, I know it's wrong but I want to play the game.

I hope someone knows, and if something like this may not be posted please tell me,

    Zephyr

Where are you Zephyr? Amazon or some other internet site should still stock copies (and cheap ones too).

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...-7597908-1366524?_encoding=UTF8&condition=all

As for cracks, I think it's fair to say that Co8 really recommends people to buy a copy of the game. There is a no-cd crack available (not made by Co8) which we sometimes link to in installation guides as Atari's cd protection sometimes refuses to recognise legitimate copies of the game.

Hope you can get your hands on a legitimate copy of the game in the near future.

Yeah I try to find something like that, because I like the game and then I should own it legal..

But by any chance, nobody wants to help?

The problem is that I never bought anything online and I'm to young for a credit card, but I'll try something.

When you get a legitimate copy of the game, be sure to check out the stickied installation guide.

    Somebody had to go here:

We at Co8 do not endorse or recommend the use of crack. There are a lot of better drugs out there.

Try injesting some ginseng or just drink some Green Tea, instead of using crack. *grin*

The official Atari site for their Temple of Elemental Evil game.
View this page click this and, then, click the buy now button <--- click there

    Or, for Walmart, click..
    click this

Otherwise, use amazon.com as mentioned above.

Sorry Zephyr, but we won't be making recommendations on patching illegal games or offering support for same, regardless of your circumstances.

If you're feeling a little guilty about being a pirate you can send your parents credit card details to...

    ...nah just kidding

Zephyr, if iyou problem really is a credit card, come on, don't tell me you know absolutely no one that does have a credit card and may buy the game for you, in front of cash. Ask people, I'm sure sooner or later you'll find someone (a teacher, an uncle, the big brother of one of your classmates, your neighbour, etc.) glad to help.

    But there's something I really can't understand.
Actually you say the Co8 patch asks you for CD.
I'm pretty sure I installed it at least once with the disks peacefully resting somewhere else than the player. So the copy of Co8 4.0.0 I own (downloaded at the Sorcerer's Place) does not prompts me for a CD.
Altough Co8 does not support a no-cd patch and does not condone piracy, I never heard it has a copy-protection policy.
Am I mistaken? Where's the error?
Is Zephyr actually a cover identity for an ATARI CEO who wants to test the bona fide of Co8 modders? :paranoid:

He's not talking about any Co8 MOD requiring a CD disk, Co8 MODs don't. He's talking about installing the game and, when he wants to launch and play the game, the game asks for a CD disk.

Please, buy the game Zephyr. You can buy it over the Internet for between 10 and 30 dollars (US). I'd suggest you buy it over the Internet from a web shop that sells a CD disk version of the game, the boxed retail version or the jewel case version - do not buy a download version that will be an incomplete version of the game.

[EDIT] Maybe even ask the library where they bought the game to learn where you can also buy the game. Or, maybe they will sell their copy to you?

You must be right, Krunch, since you confirm me that co8 patch does not require original CD.
But the thread title and some lines like "I'd like to play the co8 mod too, but if I install it it asks for a cd, which I don't have..." actually sound much more like zephyr is already playing TOEE with the copied version.
    Oh, heck. It's not important.
Buy the game, Zephyr. We must support our gaming niche, or it will die, for the companies put money where they can get money back.

Ok, this is confusing, because I had the crack before for patch 3.0. After I installed the mod it asked for a CD again, and the same crack did not work.

But anyways, I will just buy it and try's someones creditcard... Ofcourse my parents have creditcards but there are some other reasons. But, I prefer not to speak about my personal stuff to strangers, sorry. I will try to get it legal.

I am not going to get into legalities, I trust you to do the right thing.

I am confused by what you meant by the patch for 3.0, if you are talking about the Atari patch 3, that does not work with the Co8 mods. Follow the instructions in this thread http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1819 to install the Co8 mods.

I don't use a crack, but assume that it replaces the Toee.exe file, with a file of the same name with the encryption removed. So a different crack would have to be used depending on which patch you had installed. The Co8 mods use the Atari patch 2, as a base and have no additional encryption of their own.
