    Hi all,

    First-time poster, long-time reader.

First of all let me express my profound gratitude to, and admiration of, the Co8 crew for the truly stellar work they have done. Speaking as a professional C++ programmer, I am truly in awe of what the Co8 crew has achieved.

And so to my question, which is basically:
"What do I need to carry over when migrating to a new machine? I have a game on progress which I don't want to lose!"

I looked in the FAQ and searched etc, but didn't find anything. Obviously, if I've missed an obvious FAQ, please just give me the URL and accept my apologies.

I am about to migrate to a new machine and I plan to use Norton Ghost to back up the old machine (complete backup of the entire disk to an external Maxtor disk). Then, after having done full installs and patches of everything on the new machine, I plan to use Ghost selectively to restore just my preferences, saved games etc.

I am using the 'TofEEE' front-end v 3.3 and so I would like to know precisely which parts of the disk and registry need to be carried over to the new machine and still have all my preferences, saved games, characters, etc, intact.

    So far I have identified:
    - C:\Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil\modules\Co8-4.0.0\Save
    - C:\Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil\modules\ToEE\Save
    - no registry settings

Any info, "dos and don'ts" etc would be gratefully received. For my part, I am comfortable hacking around with the registry etc if necessary.

    Best regards,
    Richard.

It should be rather simple. On the new computer, install ToEE, patch it and install any Co8 MODs using the exact same selections as what you did for your current game install on the previous computer. Write a copy of the entire ToEE folder tree (should be over 1.3 GBs) to a DVD-R disk or a USB2 external hard drive. Copy and paste the DVD-R disk content or USB2 external hard drive content to the same game installation path on the new computer.

Just to follow up, it turned out that copying

    C:\Program Files\Atari\Temple of Elemental Evil\modules\Co8-4.0.0\Save

was sufficient. The game is running just fine under XP Pro on ... an intel iMac! :evil_laug
