I started an Ironman game cause I think the other method is too easy but Im only level 4 on average and already heading to the Temple. Am I missing a town or something somewhere? Hommlet and Nulb.. that it? Theres a LOT of open space on the map, and im not sure If im missing something. Ah well
all im gonna mention ... Emridy Meadows, the Moathouse Ruins, the Deklo Grove, Imeryds Run, the Tower Ruins plus one more small place [a cave] when clearing out the Temple
Anson- I would estimate about 40 hours of game play, so, yes, it's kinda short if you are used to games like Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor, which have about 100 hours of mostly boring play. But getting to the Temple is really less than half of the game Good luck there with only a 4th level party! I suggest doing all the quests you can first, and yes hitting every little place (there are only a few) on the map for XP. Emriddy's Meadow and Imredys run both have challenges for your level, but Deklo Grove should be a cake-walk, do it for the XP and fun anyway! But do it first.
roughly 40 hours "assumes" the person playing the game knows all of the ins-and-outs of the game and where everything is and what to do in what places, has a party that can actually complete the game, etc
Yeah... i tried PoR.. hated it. too much walking around, plus the mobs were buggy IIRC. Ive done most of the quests so far, but i wanted to get to Nulb and get the quests there done. Ive been to both the Meadow and the Run, did the quests there.. havnt killed the giant and his bear yet.. nor have I really explored em much. Ill go back. Deklo Grove.. you mean theres more than the 2 spiders there?
Emridy Meadows (Grass-y) Imeryd's Run (Water-y) These are two different places; it's best not to post inebriated. :drunk:
How? My only attempt at Ironman ended when I got mobbed by undead there (at level 2) after having some bad luck with Turn Undead attempts, and the hill giant is nearly impossible at level 1.
Said like someone with no CONCEPT of how big the temple is :eyebrow: . The temple is not just the big finale; it is over half the game.
I reckon taking down the giant and bear with a low-level party is half the fun of the early game: anyone can come back later and do it.
