ad.2) this might actually be known to all of you ages ago but i didn't find it anywhere on the boards and given that at least one scroll has the wrong spelling in protos.tab i'm posting it. The misspelling of sorcerer i probbaly not a misspeling but rather a different spelling. In my 3.0 book i have sorcerer asswell and anyhow writing sorceror messes the scroll up and it's uncopyable. This is the case of for example scroll 9369 protection from energy. when the spelling is corrected the copy scroll command works without problems. Hmm i checked and there are only two more instances of the sorceror spelling in protos and that's the super-heroism potion and the heroism level 6 spell scroll.
    Just my 2 cents

This was brought to my attention once before, but I didn't have any problem scribing the scroll.

Hmm well scribing (as in creating a scroll of a spell known) works fine it the problem is if you use the console to give yourself the scroll and then want to copy it into your wizards spellbook. This admittedly is not such a big deal since if someone uses the console they'll just have to bite it i guess but then again if it was ever added as treasure it might be a problem.

Sorry. I meant to say I didn't have any problem copying the scroll.

I disagree with using Burne or Spugnoir for their spellbooks is "cheap." I think its a very resourceful solution and its perfectly legit... the Scribe Scroll feat wouldn't be nearly as good without that option. In fact, I think its legit to cast Suggestion on every wizard NPC you meet, even poor Nybble, to check out their spellbooks. Its even "in character" for an evil party to do this.

Players are meant to discover new and clever uses for their feats and spells. That's one of the most entertaining parts of this game. Its what I love about this game: finding a use for Scribe Scroll, or Tracking, or Suggestion, or Quickdraw, or all the other options out there. Its what makes this game bearable and replayable.

If you open up a little, there are many, many options available to complete your wizard's spellbook. Its not a straight forward "if you pick the wrong spells, you get stuck with a lame character" situation at all. So for me this isn't an issue that necessitates addressing through modding.

As far as constructive suggestions go, one idea I had was, if you didn' t stick with the 3.5 rules, is that each new spell you scribe increases the Copy Scroll DC check, so Spells become harder and harder to learn as your Wizard learns more of them. That would make Spellcraft skill more important to wizards, and would I guess "balance" making all the scrolls available for purchase.

    Cheers,

    Dai
