Is the Female Troll Kelleen that takes care of the Owlbear near the Fire Temple, recruitable?

I "Bluffed" her and now she's pretty nice all the time when I walk by and I just thought it would be cool to recruit a Troll beside the Chief.

If she is recruitable, then can some one tell me how?

And if she is NOT recruitable, might I suggest that she be added as a recruitable PC in 4.1 Mod?

Oh yeah, make her CN too, so a Paladin can be in the party- it is only ONE step from her race alignment, should be a possibility :)

    Thanks.

Are you talking about Kella, the Hill Giant-ess?

I suggest you inquire further; all is not as it seems. If you reeeeealy must know, search her name here for the spoilers...

I believe he doesn't mean the hill-giantess. I think he means the troll in the south part of level 3 ?(anyhow the level with fire air and water temples) there's two of them one guarding an owlbear on a hydra. From what i can see in the dialog files i don't think she is recruitable (but the again i don't have much practice reading them so maybe someone more knowledgable might disprove me).
    Just my 2 cents Rawel

I never heard of any being with anything like that name except for Kella, thus my confusion. Both trolls in that area are supposed to be male, and unique only in the respect that they tend 'exotic' shall we say, creatures.

maalri, you may have found something...unusual. Not at all surprising being that it's you.

I've never heard of trolls mentioned with respect to them having sexual genders.

On level 2, between the water temple and the fire temple, there are two rooms of which I will refer to and mention. Of the two rooms, the room closest to the water temple is a troll trying to train an owlbear and the room closest to the fire temple is a troll trying to train a hydra.

As far as I know, the 2 trolls cannot be recruited. If your party belongs to one of the greater or lesser temples [or maybe even just wears temple robes] or is doing one of the temple quests, these trolls should not attack your party.

Not disputing this - they seem quite a-sexual; however, they are typically referred to in the masculine. They must reproduce by some means aside from tearing themselves into pieces, mustn't they...?

    Ecology of trolls, anyone?

It is possible that "she" was just the inference I got from "It" but I am pretty sure that "Its" name was Kelleen, and Yes Rawel is right about where "it" was...

Level 3- guarding an Owlbear-- on the Northwest hall side of the room with Ooglirist (sp?)

So, has anyone else bluffed Kelleen, or managed to recruit him/it/her?

I have bluffed her on may occasions. No, she is not recruitable, nor in my oppinion should she be. She already has a job, and it is one that she loves, if the dialog is any indication.

I still don't see any indication of gender on trolls...Owlbears, however, are easy. It's all in the plumage. :biggergri

Spike, why are you looking up Owlbear plumage?!? And I guess C-Blue confirms Two things here today...

    1. There is at least ONE female Troll, and

    2. She's not recruitable :( Darn, only Troll I ever met that I actually WANTED to recruit, and I cant.

    Thanks, all.

She is female in the protos. That is the only reason I used "she".

in my 3.0 book of trolls, it is explained that female trolls are not only smarter, they are larger and stronger than the males. troll females are usually chieftains and hunters, so oolghrist, being a male chieftain, is actually pretty unusual.

and yes, wheni talked to the troll who took care of the owlbear, she referred to herself as female, and explained how she had learned to read. she actually had some really interesting dialogue, and if she were to be made into an NPC, i actually think she should be a CN druid.

    but that's just me :p

Okay, this is Dungeon Level 3. There are trolls in the 'hub' rooms of room # 20 and also in the corner room # 25. Neither involve owlbears.

What room number are you referring to on the picture?

    [EDIT] removed the pic
