I'm playing for the first time under normal play. To get to 11th-20th level do I have to play under the ironman challenge. I have been playing succesfully with the mod and was just curious?I'm in level four dungeon of the temple and higest under normal play is 10th level:cartman:
The level cap should be disabled by default. But when you load up the game via the frontend, just check that you have set the level cap to 20 and it shouldn't be a problem. Just remember the game isn't designed to be played above level 10 and so some of the classes won't work properlyin the later parts of the game.
I'm sorry, I'm not making myself clear. My question is is there more experience points that I'm missing. I've gone all the way down (and completley through) to level 4 dungeon and I only have enough experience points to make it to level 10. Am I missing something?
Have you been to the 'nodes'? Taken on Zuggtmoy? These are in areas other than dungeon level 4. Also, if your party is too big, they'll have to split xp by however many party members you've got...or, if you don't take a lot of rest in 'unsafe' areas, random encounters will not occur. Could be any of these things, or others I've forgotten...
Have you gone through the Elemental Nodes yet? (X-Post, naturally) Spoiler: :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow The entrances to the nodes are on either side of the room where you have the fight with Hedrack. XP is pretty tough to come by at the higher levels, actually. With a party of 6 I generally only hit 12th or 13th level before I run out of places to go. Which isn't surprising, considering the game was originally designed to top out at 10th.
Camping in the water node is a great way to get experience. Eye's of the Deep give 2000 xp to each member of a party of 7 (IIRC). Even with that, you have to camp a lot to get up to even 15th level.
Unfortunately, that's going to change. The reason they give so much XP is they have 10 extra Wizard levels tacked on for no good reason.
